Mrs. Margaret Pauli and the author of the article Kathy Megyeri, both covered with “jar covers” Margaret uses Bedspread Cotton size 10 or a fine yam suitable for crocheting in varied colors and patterns from crafts magazines or from the Internet. Some of the pattern books she consults date from the ‘40’s and are modeled on ornate flower doilies that I remember from my youth. My own mother was particularly adept at making flower Crocheted eggs and jar covers designs on elaborate pillow covers. What makes each jar cover of Margaret’s unique is the thread color and pattern changes that move from a very simple design to a more intricate pattem. Each cover takes her approximately 1 to 1 14 hours, but she works as she travels, attends meetings or watches television. Her husband, BOD member Michael Pauli Jr., is not bothered by the clutter of threads, needles, patterns and ornamentation. He even accompanies her to craft supply stores for materials, patterns, and threads. For sixty years, she’s crafted, and most often, her only reward is the gratitude and raves she receives for all her hours of work. When she is not researching a genealogy project, she is crafting, and she’s always ready to take new suggestions for a crafting project, turn it out in record time, and share it with others. Few women are so generous with their talents and gifts, and we HRFA members are blessed that she’s with us. Branch News Branch 3 — Fairport Harbor, OH Under the leadership of Mrs. Elizabeth Medgyesi, Director of the Breakfast Bunch, along with Rt. Rev. Fouis Medgyesi, a program called “NOW Clothe-A- Child” was organized. The program consists of community volunteers, who not only obtained sponsors for financial contributions but also “adopted” children from the community into the program. They gathered information on each child as to their special needs. The volunteers then went out and purchased the necessary clothing such as boots, gloves, hats, etc. needed for the winter months. The purchases were festively wrapped in Christmas boxes and personally hand-delivered to the home of each child. Fruit baskets were also delivered to shut-in church members for the Christmas season. J. Ed Bihary, Branch Manager Tel: (440) 285-2620 A 4. osztály tagjai a Cleveland-i Református templom szervezésében lezajlott Óévbúcsúztatón ünnepelték a 2006- os esztendő beköszöntét. A 250 főt összeverbuváló rendezvény jó hangulatban zajlott, melyről a „Hegedűs” nevű zenekar gondoskodott. A jó hangulatot fokozta a sok finom falat: töltött karaj és töltött káposzta volt a menün.
