Congratulations to the children also, who were good and entertaining! We especially thank Rose Gerzsenyi and her helpers for their efforts to make this event Rose Gerzsenyi, Joe Fabn and Christina Yakich such a success, as well as for the food, music, and an evening of fun and sharing our Hungarian Culture. After the program the high temperature was forgotten and everybody continued to eat and dance for the rest of the evening. Matt Wallace Scholarship Program On a beautiful August 14 we did a car wash at Wendy’s fast food restaurant. It’s also a special time to get together as a team: Emma Decellis, Peg and Joe Fabri, Chad Behanna, Stacy Kremer, Rolanda, Matt Wallace and Betty Petrucha. We laughed when Stacy said we have to organize so we know who is going to wash the windows and who sprays and soaps the cars. We even teased her after that she is our administrator. Matt Wallace Car Wash This has been an ongoing project for us to provide funds for Matt Wallace as he goes off to college and needs to prepare for his internship this fall which will be in Kansas city. Matt has been quite an inspiration to us spiritually and an encouragement as well: to see such a change in his life because of the Lord and his commitment to the Lord’s work. Matt is now a member of HRFA and we wish him the Lord’s blessing in whatever the Lord’s direction will be in the mission field or as a pastor. Angels ‘R’ Us - A Fund of Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association The theme this year for fundraiser was “Just Another Day in Paradise”. Angels ‘R’ Us was founded because Tracy Horvath’s niece Amanda was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Despite the tragedy in Amanda’s life, her strength, courage, endurance and faith has been the driving force of Angels ‘R’ Us. It was formed to help local families in Beaver County who have a child that has been diagnosed with cancer or heart disease. I am delighted to be a part of Angels ‘R’ Us. Currently there are 45 families in Beaver County that have children with cancer and over 175 families with children suffering from serious heart disease. The goal is to help with the financial burden directly related to the child’s illness. This could be gasoline when traveling to the hospital or treatment center, or even food for the family, since many parents lose some income while their child is being treated. Preparing for this program has been very inspiring, and planning the night before was lots of fun. Joe and the other men helped decorate the palm trees with lights and set up the area to give the Paradise feel.
