Page 24 Fraternity- Testvériség recommending me for this scholarship, and also the HRFA for the opportunity to receive this scholarship. My name is Diana Varga (Branch 182). I graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) from Northern Illinois University in May 2004 with a degree in Family Social Services. While attending N.I.U., I was involved in several activities on and off campus. 1 was the president of the Kappa Omicron Nu Honors Society, the vice president and philanthropic chair if the Alpha Omicron Nu Sorority, and a member of the Order of Omega Honors Society. While pursuing my bachelors degree, 1 volunteered at several organizations. Through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, I was a mentor for a child at the local elementary school. The WINGS Program (Women In Need Growing Stronger) gave me the opportunity to assist a single mother and mentor her four children. As a volunteer/intem at the American Red Cross, I helped organize fund raisers as well as go on-site to aid victims of fire and other disasters. My Hungarian language skills along with some Spanish language education allowed me to offer assistance to many people at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse, where I volunteered as well. Currently 1 am in the process of applying to graduate school where I can pursue a masters degree in social work. My goal is to gain knowledge and experience in the social service field to better serve people in my community. Diana was recommended by former Board member Tibor Nagy. The Student Aid Fund of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America is accepting donations. As we are a tax exempt fraternal organization, the amount of your contribution is deductible from your personal income taxes. Your generous donation allows many young members of the HRFA to partake in the wonderful opportunities higher education has to offer.
