Page 3 Fraternity- Testvériség Report of the Secretary-Treasurer From March through September, 2004, the DC Insurance Commissioner examined HRFA’s affairs, financial condition and management. Such examination usually occurs every three years. Every facet of our operation—income statement, balance sheet and cash flow—is under the microscope. We passed this audit successfully; therefore, instead of every three years, we will be examined every five years starting from the year 2004. As a result, HRFA will enjoy considerable savings because the last audit cost over $70,000. Of course, we are also audited every year by an independent certified accounting firm, which additionally assures the policy- holders that their claims will be paid. HRFA has almost $22 million in assets that are invested conservatively in order to preserve our capital and receive the highest income flow possible. Traditionally, we used the firm of Morgan Stanley for our brokerage services. Starting in May, 2004, we passed half our investments to Merrill Lynch. We made the move in order to put the two firms into a type of competition with each other. This gives us the best pricing and return on investments. In addition to securities, we have close to $2 million in direct mortgage loans and another $200,000 in certificate loans. Thus, we are on a solid financial footing. HRFA’s accounting is moving into the 21st century. Doug Eckley, our actuary, reports, “We have almost completed the re-engineering of the accounting function. This includes changes in vendor software and in the internal files that we maintain.” Silvia Fedor, our accountant, adds, “We have been working very hard on finishing the Annual Financial Statement for the year 2004 as well as starting off 2005 by moving into a more paperless system. This will allow us to save paper and money and more easily transfer data.” Erika Mason, our claims underwriter specialist, would like to thank all the branch managers and agents who work hard on behalf of the Federation for our members. She reminds everyone that HRFA will make a $35 donation in memory of a deceased member. When speaking to beneficiaries, she asks that agents not forget to mention this added benefit. Also when filling out new applications, Erika reminds agents to make sure the applications are complete, accurate, and neat as they become part of the final policies. She also requests agents to check that ALL questions have been answered. Erika especially appreciates those who adhere to these legal requirements. Personally, 1 recently passed the examination to become a life insurance agent. I encourage others to do the same to increase their knowledge of our insurance products and better compete with others who sell similar products. Each state’s insurance commissioner has the necessary information to register to take the exam and obtain a license. HRFA will financially support those who apply and train for the life-insurance license. It is my pleasure to continue serving you to the best of my ability. Halljátok az igét, melynek alapján szól az Úr, Pál Apostol Filippiekhez írt levelének második fejezete 8. versében: „4nnakokáért az az indulat legyen bennetek, mely volt a Jézus Krisztusban is.. ”. Az öröm és a gond a mindennapi élet kísérőjelensége, együttesen ható tényezője. Bár Jézus Krisztus tulajdona és egyedüli zsinórmértéke a teljes Szentírás, ám -mivel maga is a világban él- munkálkodása során egyaránt szembesül jó és ártó hatásokkal, még az egyházban, a hitrejutottak közösségében is. Az írás az akkori, kétségkívül egységbontó korszak nehézségeit legyőző, áldozatkész Filippiek közötti viszályokról tudósít. Mit cselekedett az apostol, amikor tudomást szerzett a gyülekezet belső problémáiról? Együttérzéssel, levél útján Krisztusra mutatóan segítségükre sietett. Igét hirdetett, örömüzenetet szólt, hogy tudomásul vegyék, hogy az „Úr közel(Érdemes elolvasni az eredeti szöveg angol nyelvre fordított változatát - “the Lord is at hand”). Felszólította őket, hogy gondjaikat vigyék az Úr elé, mondják el zúgolódás nélkül aggodalmaikat és higyjenek Isten és Jézus Krisztus békességteremtő erejében. Az Úrban való örvendezés a hit mosolya, s ez biztosítja a gyülekezet belső nyugalmát. Meggyőződéssel vallhatjuk, hogy az életben csak abban az esetben jutunk eredményre, ha Isten igéjére figyelünk és Jézus Krisztust követjük. A 2005. év húsvét-feltámadás ünnepi üzenet sajátossága a ,rJézust indulat” elfogadása és akaratának feltétel nélküli teljesítése. Jézus Istennel való azonosságát, egyenlőségét és ebből eredően hatalmának erejét a szolgáló szeretetre tékozolta. A Krisztusi indulat szimbóluma a kereszt. A megáldoztatás tudatos vállalása és ennek eredményes befejezése, a gonosz halál feletti győzelem, a feltámadás. Örök élet, hajnali fény örök
