Youth Achievements Leah Elizabeth Haydu, Yeager Scholar Agnes Haydu is proud to announce that her grand­daughter, Leah Elizabeth Haydu, graduated May 10,2003, from Marshall University with the Class of 2003, the larg­est graduating class in Marshall’s history. Leah was a Yeager Scholar during her four years at Marshall and maintained a 3.96 GPA. She graduated Summa Cum Laude. On Friday evening, May 9th, the Yeager Scholars were honored by the Society of Yeager Scholars at the Me­dallion Ceremony held in the John Deaver Drinko Library. The nine scholars each received a Medallion bearing the sculpted image of General Yeager with the phrase “Only the Best” engraved on it, as well as their name on the back. The medallions were worn on a green and white ribbon during the commencement exercises. Leah expects to continue her education to acquire her Master’s Degree. Leah, along with seven other Yeager scholars, spent 12 weeks overseas. She attended classes at Oxford University for six weeks, as well as classes at a university in Spain for four weeks. Our heartiest congratulations are extended to Leah. Kimberly Erin Pauli, Merit Student Kimberly Erin Pauli graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mount St. Mary's Academy in Watchung, New Jersey, with a Grade Point Average of 4.1. She is a four-year member of the National Honor Society, the Cum Laude Society, and a National Merit Committee Scholar. At graduation she received a scholarship from the Daughters of the American Revolution for excellence in American History. During her high school years, she participated in the Model United Nations, Mock Trials, Varsity Soccer, and the Computer Club. Her community service projects included organization of food drives, computer education for senior citizens and the Special Olympics for handicapped children. She will attend Villanova University in Villanova, Penn­sylvania, in the School of Commerce and Finance on a full Presidential Scholarship. Kimberly is a member of Branch 501 in Metuchen, New Jersey. Her parents are Dr. and Mrs. Robert Pauli of Edison, New Jersey, and her grandparents are Director and Mrs. Michael Pauli, Jr. of Metuchen, New Jersey.
