Page 20 TESTVÉRISÉG Congratulations, Michael A. Nagy! Our member, Michael A. Nagy, of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, who is an RN in the Emergency Department at Jefferson Medical Center, was named “Employee of the Month” in July. His director at the hospital said he is an excellent ER nurse with very high standards and has much compassion for his patients. “He is loved by his patients and respected by his peers and the department doctors,” his supervisor quoted. Mike worked with the EMS Service while attending nursing school. He gives credit to the people he works with, who helped him to become the person he is today. He gives thanks also to his wife, Lisa, family, and God, as they are always there for him. He also serves as preceptor/mentor and is the department’s HAZMAT and Bio-Terrorism Liaison. System-wide he is a trained TB mask fitter and is the ED representative of the care delivery partnership program. As a volunteer fireman for many years, Mike is assistant chief for the West Mifflin Fire Department. Mike is one of three nurses in his immediate family - his mom, Sharon, and his sister, Erica, who are also our Branch members. He is the grandson of Marian Nagy, President of Branch 134, and the great nephew of Olga Damay. Our congratulations to Michael, and may God bless him for his dedication to his profession. The Lord blessed us with sunny weather so that we could look forward to a lovely day of fellowship. We started preparations at 7:00 a.m., and with our hard-working group, we had no problems meeting the deadline. We served delicious Hungarian dishes, and children under 12 received free meals. People started arriving at noon. From Washington, D.C. came HRFAPresident/CEO Rev. Stefan M. Torok and his wife, Cindy; from Pennsylvania, Rev. Imre A. Bertalan, Executive Director of the Bethlen Home, and HRFA Director Clara Csikesz and her husband, Bela; and from Ohio, HRFA Vice Chair, John K. Morey, and his wife, Pat. William Penn Association was represented by Andy Csornán and his wife, Arlene. Rose Gerzsenyi brought a busload of people from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and more people came from Ambridge, Alliquippa, New Brighton, Ellwood City, and from our own Branch. We thank all who came from far and near. Dorothy and Company played our favorite melodies for our dancing pleasure. We also had a Christian magician who entertained the children, as well as the adults. Special thanks to Nello DeSantes for the raffle prizes. For the first time, the younger generation cooked and served the food. We greatly appreciate their help. Our gratitude also to Jeff and Julie DeSantes; Sam and Renee Maldonato; Josh and Jodi Fleishman; Deb Lambert; Ed and Kathy Kovács; Helen Wilson; Regis Wagner; Butch and Nadine Csornán; Julie Csornán; Amy Spagina; Jerry and Stacey Carver; and Andy and Arlene Csornán. Our thanks to all the workers and to those who donated the delicious pastries for this beautiful event. Join Hands Day in Beaver Falls and ... Our project this year was to clean the shelter and picnic tables at C.M.A Church in Beaver Falls. We prepared the tables for painting by sanding and washing them the day before. This gave us a good head start for the following day. We started with our project early Saturday morning, June 21 st, and worked practically all day long. The results were very satisfying - the shelter and the tables looked like new. Pastor Paul Moore was also very pleased because an outdoor service was planned for our mortgage burning celebration the following day, Sunday, June 22nd.
