Congratulations to George Manolukas We congratulate George Manolukas on his outstanding achievements during the 2002-2003 wrestling season. George was the co-captain of the Junior High School Wrestling Team, as well as tournament champion at Blackhawk and South Side. George’s determination and hard work (29 wins and 2 losses) earned him the nickname of Rocky. He was undefeated at section meets and was voted by his teammates for the “Joe Burka Award”. (Joe Burka was a dedicated pioneer of the Blackhawk Wrestling Program who died at an early age.) George and his brother, Mannie, who is also on the wrestling team, are members of our branch. Both boys are children of Dr. Manolukas and his wife, Joanne. Dr. Manolukas was also a wrestler during his college years, and Joanne is very active in the wrestling club. Our branch and the HRFA are very proud of George’s accomplishments, and we wish him continued success. We wish God’s richest blessings on all our young members and their families. President Bill Nicholas opened the meeting with a prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Officers elected for 2003 were: Bill Nicholas, President, and Marge Nicholas, Secretary- Treasurer. Following the meeting, Bill Nicholas read a letter to those present from Rev. Stefan Torok honoring Mrs. Elizabeth Nagy for her 74 years of faithful membership with the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, as well as her granddaughter, Maria Sember, a ninth grader, for her academic achievements and Christian service. Each member received a Certificate of Appreciation and a pin honoring the victims of 9-11-01. Hungarian pastries and coffee were served in the fellowship hall. Gioiello Families Become Part of Our Fraternal Family! We are very pleased to welcome seven new members of the Gioiello family of Ohio. Joey and Sonia Gioiello of Warren, Ohio, are the parents of two-year-old triplets: Elena Jo, Jo Lena Marie, and Mario Joseph.
