The large crowd enjoyed fellowship, a delicious dinner and the mouth-watering cakes and cookies baked by the ladies of the parish. O------------------------------------------------­Visit us at our Website: www.hrfa.org v j MariaPocs Fraternal Day The St. George District and combined Branches of New Jersey sponsored their 10th Annual MariaPocs Fra­ternal Day on Sunday, August 4, 2002. The tranquil grounds of the Basilian Fathers of MariaPocs, located in Matawan, NJ, once again served as the setting for the event attended by close to 250 people. Rt. Rev. Dr. Francis Vitéz and Rev. Albert Kovács gave the invocation in Hungarian and English, respec­tively. Mrs. Elaine Convery led the singing of the American and Hun- garian anthems. Mr. George Dózsa, Chairman of the Board of the HRFA, gave the welcome. The Committee was honored to have in attendance Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Megyeri from Washing­ton, D. C. Mr. Megyeri is the Federation’s Legal Advisor. The traditional fare of bogrács gulyás, pecsenye and langos was prepared to perfection. Hot dogs, hamburg­ers, com on the cob, watermelon, draft beer, birch beer, lemonade, tea and coffee rounded out our menu. Hungar­ian filled cakes, csőröge, tortas, etc. were served for des­sert. Also available for purchase were nut rolls, strudel, tins of Hungarian filled cakes and Kossuth Kifli. The “Our Gang Trio” provided their musical rendi­tions of Hungarian and other favorite numbers throughout the afternoon. There were pony rides and an animal petting zoo, which captivated the attention of the young chil­dren. In addi­tion, Laura Melanson fur­ther entertained them at her table with face, nail and toe painting, and HRFA Director Fred Erdei and Mr. Leslie various other Megyeri, HRFA Legal Advisor, having a friendly craft activities, discourse.
