FRATERNITY Page 11 HRFA Joins Relief Efforts for Victims of 9/11/01 Terrorist Attacks All of us remain shocked and saddened by the horrific events of September 11, 2001. The passage of time has not dulled our sympathy and concern for the many victims of the cowardly attacks on that day. As Hungarian-Americans, we are appreciative and ever grateful of the opportunity to live in a society dedicated to the preservation of liberty and freedom. We are also aware that the cost of that liberty and freedom can be dear. To that end, we have established a separate fund titled “HRFA 9/11/01 Relief Fund.” Members can send donations payable to the Fund to the Home Office at 2001 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20036-1011, Attention: Ms. Teri Pflum, Fraternal Coordinator. ONE HUNDRED PER CENT OF ALL DONATIONS RECEIVED will be passed on to appropriate relief agencies assisting victims in the greater New York and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas. No deductions of any kind will be made by the HRFA for administrative costs, and all recipient agencies will be screened to ensure that your donations reach those for whom they are intended. For all donations of $15.00 or more, the HRFA will send you a commemorative cloisonne pin you can wear to show your support and the support of our society for the victims of the tragedies. The pin is approximately 1” in width and shows a replica of the World Trade Center Twin Towers (in gold) rising from behind our traditional logo of the HRFA seal (in gold) on top of crossed American and Hungarian flags. Below the logo appear the words “Lest we forget” in gold on a blue banner and below that “September 11, 2001” in gold on a red banner. Dear Editor, Thank you for publishing the article on the 75th Anniversary and Celebration of our Church. We really appreciate your including the article in the last issue of Fraternity. May God bless you and your work! Köszönjük az Ur nevében, és maradunk Krisztusi szeretettel. Isten áldását kérjük, Önökre, munkájukra. A Los Angelesi Első Magyar Református Egyház Vezetősége Tunde Garai, FögondnokJChief Elder First Hungarian Reformed Church of Los Angeles Dear Editor, As former editor-in-chief and presently an ardent reader of Fraternity, I wish to congratulate you on an excellent job. The Fraternity is a true reflection of the concern and achievement of our fraternal life. Keep up the good work! Rev. Imre Bertalan, Honorary President of the HRFA Dear Editor, Just to let you know that someone paid attention to the article you put in Fraternity, No. 3, 2001. This morning at church, someone came in from the office to tell me that there was a phone call for me. A Mr. Molnár saw the article and was getting rid of a room full of fabric that his wife, who was always sewing, left behind when she died. We went over after church and picked up a van full of fabric, and we will have to go back for more. He is extremely grateful to us for taking the fabric off his hands, and the CYF (Christian Youth Fellowship, their new name) will have so much fun finding uses for it. Deneice Oroszvary, Branch Manager, Br. 20, Trenton, New Jersey (The above letter refers to Deneice’s article in Fraternity No. 3, 2001 under Branch News. It is in reference to fabric used for making walker bags and the Quilts for Kids project.) We welcome mail from our readers. Letters should be sent to Fraternity, 2001 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036-1011. You may also send us an e-mail to hrfa@capu.net. Visit us at our Website: www.hrfa.org
