On behalf of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, domiciled in the Nation’s Capital, Washington, D.C., we were greatly honored by the special invitation and to have the opportunity to be one of the sponsors of the event. The following people represented the HRFA at this event: Mr. George Dózsa, Chairman of the Board; the Rev. Stefan (István) Török, President/CEO; Mr. William B. Puskás, Jr., Treasurer/CFO; Miss Priscilla Hunyady, Vice Chair; several current and former members of the Board of Directors; and numerous Federation members. We all returned to our homes knowing that our efforts and remembrances of our great Hungarian heritage are still kept alive within us. We can be proud of our Hungarian history and that we are Hungarians. I conclude this report with the words of the Hungarian National Anthem. “ISTEN ÁLDD MEG A MAGYART!” Rev. Stefan M. Torok, President/CEO Commemoration of Kossuth in Washington, D.C. On March 14, 2002, the Embassy of Hungary and the American Hungarian organizations, including the HRFA, held a commemoration in the U.S. Congress on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the visit of Louis Kossuth to America in 1851-52. Attending this celebration were members of the Home Office Examining Committee, their spouses and the National Officers. The Home Office of the HRFA held a reception, as well as a wreath-laying ceremony on March 15th to commemorate the War of Independence of 1848-49.
