FRATERNITY Page 5 Representing our American Hungarian Christian community and congregations is the Executive Director of the Bethlen Home, the Rev. Imre A. Bertalan. Staff Co- Chairs are Mr. Robert Tickerhoff, an in-house therapist of the Bethlen Home, and Mrs. Julie Skovira, the Director of Ligonier Gardens. Representing the families and the residents in the Home is Mrs. Toni McCurdy, a staff member of the Bethlen Home whose mother is a resident in the Home. A Foundation and Corporate Chair will be chosen in the near future. We all know that, by establishing the Committee, this does not represent a success by itself. It is our hope that when all aspects of this project come together, with the help of these chairs and their assistants, the hard work of soliciting funds can begin. How will the Campaign work? Very simply! The solicitation will work as follows: Any individuals, members, or congregations may make a pledge to the project. All pledges must be fulfilled within three years. It is our hope that by 2004 we will occupy the new Bethlen Home. The projected dedication of the new home will coincide with the next Quadrennial Convention of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, which is planned to be held in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, in September 2004. The Campaign slogan we have selected is the “Dawning of a New Day.” Let us also follow the historical Bethlen Home motto that “We are doers of the Word.” Both sayings will come true if all of us, with a united effort, double our strength, and work for the success of the Campaign. We call upon everyone to lend us a helping hand. It is the “Dawning of a New Day” at the Bethlen Home and a time to meet the needs of a new, growing population of the elderly who are placed into our care. We must be the “doers of the Word” to make our dreams a reality. Directors, National Officers and Advisors of the HRFA Spring Board Meeting Washington, D.C.
