It was very well attended. Included in the day’s events were several raffles and a craft sale. One featured raffle item was a beautifully embroidered, framed wall hanging made and donated by Barbara J. Revak, who is also Church Secretary and Co-Treasurer. The fabric and embroidery thread for the hanging came from Hungary. Also raffled was a “family” - consisting of a stuffed hen, rooster and 5 peeps. These were made and donated by Branch 134 President Marian Nagy and Branch Manager Olga Damay. Proceeds from this were shared by the branch and the church. Welcome New Member! Hungarian people from many areas such as Ohio, California and West Virginia participate. This year there was a good turnout. The program opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the American and Hungarian national anthems. Rev. Alexander Jalso gave the invocation. Children and mothers danced folk dances in their native costumes. They were quite impressive. Professor Gabriel Pellathy of St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, PA spoke. Director Joseph Fabri spoke on behalf of the HRFA and the Bethlen Home. Rev. Daniel Borsay offered the benediction. Peg Fabri and Branch Manager of Br. 134 Olga Damay distributed HRFA flyers at the end of the program. We recognize Bob Doby, Miklós Melcsevics and Bill Hrabasky, presidents of the McKeesport, Pittsburgh and Ellwood City Hungarian Clubs, respectively. Rose Gerzsenyi is the director of the program. Thank you Rose for your dedication to the Hungarian communities. It is wonderful when members of the HRFA support Hungarian events by attending them with their families and friends. Welcome New Members! We welcome Joshua Bates and Blake William Zeigler to the HRFA. Both are grandchildren of Bill and Bobbie Hrabasky. We met Barb Bohizic and her mother Mary at the annual Hungarian Harvest Dance. Both ladies are members of the HRFA. Barb mentioned the HRFA to Bill and Bobbie. Bill invited us to their home and bought a policy for each of their grandchildren. We thank Barb for promoting the HRFA. We also thank Bill and Bobbie for bringing their two grandchildren into the Federation. We extend our best wishes to parents, Mike, Beth, Eric and Lori. Joshua Bates Blake William Zeigler Ellwood City is a very nice community, and we are proud to be part of the Hungarian Home.
