There are not enough words to express our appreciation to Stephen Benedek for his warm hospitality and to his staff for their help. Our thanks to all who helped make this day a success - Irenke Vallario, chef and treasurer, Sari Spevak for her invaluable help to me in the kitchen, Ralph Bohn, Edit Velenyi and Sándor Vegh, Erika Mason, Tibor Pflum, all the ladies who provided us with the delicious pastries, and the men who helped wherever a strong hand was needed. Rosmunda graduated from Clifton High School in Clifton, New Jersey this year. She plans to attend Montclaire College this fall. Her mother and brother are also longtime members of the Federation. We are very thankful for their loyal membership. Hungarian Flag Raising Ceremonies All the Hungarian organizations in the area held a flag raising on Clifton City Hall property to celebrate Hungarian Independence Day. Rev. Stephen N. Mustos SP, Pastor of St. Stephen RC Magyar Church in Passaic; Ernest Mozer, Jr., of the William Penn Association; László Kerkay of the Hungarian Museum in Passaic; George Mattyasovszky of the Hungarian Club of Garfield; and Ted Harsaghy, branch manager of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America attended the event along with city officials. Holy Communion Celebrated Branch Manager Ted Harsaghy’s grandchildren Robert and Christopher Harsaghy as well as Sara Schimmenti celebrated their lsl communion at St. Andrew’s RC Church and Sacred Heart RC Church respectively.
