FRATERNITY Page 3 A Few Words from the Chairman... Dear Members and Friends of the HRFA! I would like to introduce myself as the newly elected Chairman of the Board of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. I am a life long member of the Federation and have been a member of the Board of Directors since 1985. Under the old By- Laws, I was elected Vice President of the Board and served on and chaired several Board committees. After the Convention, I was selected as Vice Chairman of the Board and served as Chair of the Administrative and Search Committees. I am honored by my election, and pledge to carry out my responsibilities, and uphold the trust placed in me by my fellow Board Members. Since last September, the Board has been devoting its efforts to meeting the mandate of the Convention to bring in new leadership. This is not an easy task or one that can be rushed The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America is proud to support JOIN HANDS DAY... ... and we hope you will, too. Savfc the Pate JOIN HANDS DAY s. June 16,2001 ^ or taken lightly. We are trying to find the best people to lead the Federation. We have conducted several interviews for National Officers and are close to finding a Chief Financial Officer. We should know shortly if our negotiations will succeed. The Board has decided to reopen the search for the position of Chief Executive Officer. This position requires someone who is bilingual and has experience with fraternal insurance organizations. The individual should bring with him or her a passion and a vision for the fűmre. In addition, the Board has authorized a search for two additional positions: a Sales and Marketing Director and a Fraternal Director. The Sales and Marketing Director requires experience in the field of insurance, and should be able to recruit for and train our sales force. The Fraternal Director will be required to co-ordinate fraternal activities within the Federation and will assist with the publication of the Fraternity. If you know anyone you feel is qualified to fill these positions, please urge the individuals to forward a resume to me at: HRFA Search Committee 50 North Washington Avenue Colonia, New Jersey 07067-4098 Be part of the annual JOIN HANDS DAY, June 16, 2001. For more information, contact the Home Office at: 1-888-567-7884 We hope to fulfill the Convention’s mandate soon. In the interim, our current President George Dózsa has agreed to stay on. The Home Office continues to function and is prepared to service and respond to your needs. The Board is faced with many important decisions concerning our future direction. Among these are the types of products we should offer and how to deal with out declining membership. We need your help to prosper. Without you we will not exist. I ask that you promote the Federation and its benefits - the Bethlen Home for our elderly, our scholarship program for the youth, our fraternal activities for the family. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve the Federation, send them to me at the address listed in this article. Working together, I am sure that we can keep the Federation strong and meet our mission and goals as we go into this new millennium.
