FRATERNITY Page 17 The Activity Department of the Bethlen Home has pub­lished a cookbook to raise funds to famish the kitchen in the new Home. Our branch secretary has purchased some as gifts which were pleasantly received. Other projects will be discussed as the year moves forward. The President opened the floor for election of officers for 2001. Elected were: William Szuch, President; W. James Szuch, Vice President; and Helen Szuch, Secretary-Trea­surer. Elected unanimously. In closing the President asked all members to support the Student Aid Fund, the Bethlen Home and the Home’s Activity Fund as in the past. With no farther business, the meeting was closed with a prayer and refreshments were served. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania The Christmas season has come and gone; we have reached a New Year, a new millennium and time to have annual elections. Marian Nagy presided at our January 29, 2001 meet­ing held at the social hall of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne, Pa. Election of officers was held, and our deep appreciation is extended to all of our past officers who agreed to continue on for another year. Namely: Marian Nagy, President; William Nagy, Vice President; Julia Nagy, Secretary; and Olga Damay, Treasurer. Our secretary Julia was hospitalized recently, but thank­fully she is at home recuperating. Best wishes are extended to Jay for a complete recovery; we hope that she will be with us soon. Little Deaira Bassett sitting on Santa’s knee at the Christmas Party of Branch 134. A thank you card was received from the family to whom we presented a Thanksgiving food basket. They expressed their appreciation and gratitude to us in their time of need. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting. Olga Damay, Branch Manager 412-466-2710 We extend a warm welcome to our newest little mem­ber Bryce Louis Hegedűs, the son of Lori and Lou Hegedűs. Bryce attends our church services regularly with his par­ents; he is loved by all of the congregation, and he loves to listen to the organ music. Our member Michael A. Nagy was married this past summer to his lovely wife Lisa. Michael is the grandson of Branch President Marion Nagy. Our congratulations and best wishes are extended to them. Julia Nagy, Secretary 412-751-3901 Branch 140 - Canton, Ohio The annual meeting of our branch was opened by Presi­dent Steve Bodo on January 2, 2001 at 7:00 P.M. Vice President Steven Bodo offered the prayer. Discussed were plans for upcoming events: a picnic, a swim party and a pizza party. We elected the following officers for 2001: Steve Bodo, President; Steven Bodo, Vice President; Anne Dohy, Trea­surer; and Margaret Ayers, Secretary. Apple pie, coffee and tea were served before adjourn­ment of the meeting at 8:00 P.M. What a blessing it is to be able to give to others! It is more blessed to give than to receive.
