This “vándorzászló” was given to the Hungarian immigrants in America in 1902 by the Hungarian government. It is currently located in the President’s office of the Kossuth House. The coat of arms in the center dates to 1874 when it was determined by a royal order. It is a symbolic image, containing elements which represent the seven original Hungarian tribes, four main rivers and three main mountains of historic Hungary. St. Stephen and Christianity are also honored, as are the territories which were once part of greater Hungary.
