Joseph Posta, Branch Manager Branch 13 - Passaic, New Jersey The delegate election meeting was held on May 21, 2000. Branch President Zoltán Simon opened the meet­ing with a prayer. Delegate elected: Theodore Harsaghy - 1st Alternate: Jolán Szmetena. Ilona Toth, Branch Manager Branch 15 - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania The delegate election meeting was held on May 27, 2000. Delegate elected: Bela Csikesz, Jr. - Alternate: Joseph L. Csikesz. Joseph L. Csikesz, President Branch 17 - South Bend, Indiana The delegate election meeting was held on May 28, 2000. Delegate elected: Magdolna Hunyadi - Alternate: László Hunyadi. László Hunyadi, President Branch 20 - Trenton, New Jersey The special meeting of our branch was opened on May 20, 2000 with a prayer by Pastor Les Martin. Five mem­bers of the branch were present. Old business: Pastor Martin read the thank-you letter from the Magyar Reformed Church of Staten Island. The dinner-dance hosted by the branch had netted $823, with more donations promised. New business: The flyers about the Hungarian Sum­mer School were read and discussed. None of us knew of any Hungarian-speaking members that age. The National Fraternal Day was explained, but we did not feel that there was time to plan a project for this year. Elections: The election procedure and purpose was explained. Delegate elected: Deneice Oroszvary - 1st Alternate: Rev. Leslie E. Martin - 2nd Alternate: Julius G. Oroszvary. Rev. Leslie E. Martin, Branch President Branch 21 - Toledo, Ohio The delegate election meeting was held on April 9, 2000. Reverend Imre A. Bertalan opened the meeting with a prayer. Branch Manager Mary Bacho announced that the 17 members present constituted the quorum. It was agreed to donate an amount of $ 122.81 to Rev­erend Bertalan to purchase a policy from the Federation for each newly baptized baby. The dues for each policy would be paid for two years, after which the parents would, hopefully, assume the payments. The election of branch officers followed. Elected were: Mary Bacho, President; Mary S. King, Vice President; John Bistayi, Secretary; and Louis Kozma, Treasurer. The results of the delegate election were: Delegate elected: Mary Bacho - Alternate: Louis Kozma. Mary S. King, Acting Secretary Branch 22 - Youngstown, Ohio The delegate election meeting was held on May 7, 2000. Delegate elected: Patricia M. Morey - 1st Alternate. John L. Morey - 2nd Alternate: Steve Szabó 111. Steve Szabó, Branch President Branch 31 - Lorain, Ohio The delegate election meeting was held on May 21, 2000. Thirty-five eligible voting members registered; therefore, according to the by-laws, the quorum was met, and the meeting was called to order at 2:10 p.m. by the President. The meeting was opened with a prayer by Roberta Aros. The President gave the statement of the agenda for the meeting. The first order of business was to elect two delegates and first, second and third alternates to the 36th Quadrennial Convention of the HRFA to be held in Sep­tember 2000, in Toledo, Ohio. Following these elections, resolutions or recommendations from branch members would be accepted in order for them to be sent to the Con­vention. Delegates elected: Emma Aros and Roberta K. Aros. 1st Alternate: Sharon Pennington - 2nd Alternate: Ed Molnár - 3rd Alternate: Marian Molnár. Richard Aros, a Director of the Board of Directors of the HRFA, then presented a synopsis of the by-law changes for the Federation being proposed by the Board of Direc­tors. Rev. Zoltán Szucs gave a greeting to the branch mem­bers and also commented on the proposed by-law changes. Refreshments were served following the meeting. Sharon Pennington, Secretary Branch 33 - Newark, New Jersey The delegate election meeting was held on April 19, 2000. It was opened with a prayer by Margaret Erdei. Branch Manager Fred Erdei announced the sad news of the passing away of President George Dozsa’s mother in Hungary. After a short business meeting, the delegate election was held. It was decided that any person seeking the of­fice must have sold at least a five thousand dollar policy. It was suggested that the Federation donate some help to the flood victims in Hungary.
