FRATERNITY Page 9 FIELD FORCE MEETING HELD IN LIGONIER, PENNSYLVANIA Field Force Meetings have been held in past years and we have come away many a time with the feeling that the knowledge gained did not justify the time, energy and cost spent. This was not one of those meetings. Secretary Endre Csornán prepared a very informative agenda with excellent speakers, spiced with humor in the “Adventures of Bob”, all within a very controlled time frame. The Agents and guests were welcomed by our Secretary at the Holiday Inn Express in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday, November 5,1999. Time for renewing acquaintances and making new friends was the order of business at a Hospitality Session which lasted well into the evening. The Bethlen Home Conference Room in Ligonier served as the site of our meeting on Saturday. Secretary Csornán set the tone of the meeting by the welcome and opening remarks at the scheduled 9:30 a.m. A very inspirational prayer was given by Mr. Jay Schenk who then proceeded to open the Training Seminar with a presentation on “Where Does the Sale Start?” and “Prospecting”. Jay gave a little flavor to his subject matter by showing a video account of a Life Insurance Salesman entitled: “The Adventures of Bob”. The guest speaker, Mike Melosky, was then introduced by Endre Csornán. Mr. Melosky most recently was a full time District Supervisor for one of the large Fraternal Benefit Societies. He is called upon often to give motivational speeches and is a regular on the lecturing circuit. Without a doubt, Mr. Melosky was one of the most illuminating and motivational speakers that we have had the pleasure of hearing. Mr. Melosky’s talk ran the gamut, touching on “Formula for Happiness, Psychology of Winning, Positive Self Expectancy, Good Leadership and Listening to What Your Client Has to Say”. He commanded the attention of and aroused the curiosity of all those present in the Conference Room. After a delightful lunch, Jay Schenk completed his portion of the program by discussing “Sales Today vs. Sales of the Past” and “Long Term Care”. President George Dózsa addressed the group briefly, exhibiting pleasure at the content of the program and the apparent interest shown by those in attendance. The Agents and guests were treated to a very savory dinner at a restaurant in Greensburg and then retired to the Holiday Inn to exchange views on the days happenings. It is everyone’s hope that the inspiration and motivation that permeated the attendees at the seminar will be translated into a positive attitude and increase in sales production. The Executive Committee, in particular Secretary Endre Csornán, are to be commended for a job well done. CONVENTION 2000 The 36th Quadrennial Convention of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America will be held on September 24-28, 2000 in Toledo, Ohio. All branches are requested to hold the annual meeting of their branch in December 1999 to set the date, time and place for the Delegate Election meeting. According to the By-Laws, the Delegate Election Meeting must be held during the months of April and May, 2000. Those meetings are very important for the following reasons: 1. You will be electing your delegate(s) to the 36th Quadrennial Convention of the Federation who will in turn elect the new leadership for the next four years. 2. And, at the Delegate Election Meeting, members of the Federation can make recommendations to the Convention as long as they are not in conflict with any state or federal law pertaining to fraternal life insurance.
