Page 14 TESTVÉRISÉG Continued from page 13 We were very fortunate to have live music by András Farkas, who came from Toronto with a repertoire of Hungarian favorites. A local favorite accordion player also played for an impromptu singing group. We note in closing that many hardworking volunteers made the day a success. Thanks to our members who spared no time and effort to give the Kossuth Club the modest means to help advance deserving causes. ANNUAL FUND-RAISING EVENT in BEAVER FALLS, PENNSYLVANIA The annual fund-raising event of Branch 151 was held on June 7th at Westmayfield Park in Beaver Falls, Pa. It was a sunny but cool day, leading us into the summer season. We started with our preparations at 8:00 a.m. We had a hardworking group that knew what it took to meet the deadline. Our delicious menu consisted of gulyás, sausage and sauerkraut, bacon fry, hot dogs, and pastries. At 12 noon, the people started to arrive. From Youngstown, Ohio, came an accordion player and from other areas came people with musical instruments to the delight of young and old. A pleasant surprise was to see people from McKeesport arrive on a rented bus, as well as those coming from Elwood City, Pittsburgh, Ambridge, Alliquippa, New Brighton and from our own local Branch 151. We would like to compliment all those that prepared the food because we sold everything that was on the menu. A special thanks to the ladies that donated the delicious pastries. Our goal was to reach out to all nationalities and denominations to promote the Hungarian Reformed Federation of American and gain new members. The proceeds of this event will go to the needy. We thank all who participated in this fund-raiser and we already look forward to next year’s event.
