FRATERNITY Page 37 can put a big burden on an already stressful time in one’s life. This made it a little easier on me. Not many institutions will invest in a young person’s future. I would also like to take time to thank my godmother, Mrs. Olga Damay, for the huge role she had in my receiving the grant. She took the time out of her busy life to make sure I was considered for this honor. I appreciate all of those involved in the support I received. Thank you.” Paul London, Br. 54: “I am presently attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania studying counseling and case management for vocational rehab. I am also attempting to become a Certified Athletic Trainer. Besides my studies, I am actively involved with my two sons, Christopher age 15, and Nicholas age 12. We are members of the local branch of the HRFA as well as members of the Grade United Methodist Church in Punxsutawaney. My goal in life is to be the best father I can be for my two sons. I want to be able to set a good example for my boys and to provide for them so that they may obtain a good education. I am very interested in helping others who may need guidance in overcoming a disability so that they too may attain their goals and interests in life. I am attending college because of a serious back injury while operating heavy equipment. Due to my injury I can no longer work in the type of heavy construction that I had always enjoyed. Through the help of a Pennsylvania Occupational Vocational Rehab office I have been able to attend school. However, because of funding cuts, I am not receiving enough money to cover all of my costs as well as support for my boys. Therefore, I have come to greatly appreciate your financial aid.” Anikó A. Szucs Anikó A. Szucs, Br. 31: “I would like to thank you for the generous scholarship that you have given me toward college. I am currently a junior at Kent State University studying business marketing. I am starting to take my upper division business classes and really enjoying them. My college years have been filled with exciting new classes, friends and opportunities. I am an active member of Alpha Xi Delta, a nationally recognized sorority. I currently hold the office of social chairman and am in charge of interfratemity relations. I am also a little sister and honorary member of Alpha Epsilon Pi National fraternity. Between my studies and my sorority, I am always really busy, but my years at Kent State have been wonderful, and they are getting better with every semester. Thank you for helping and giving me this opportunity. Thank you, Mrs. Emma Aros, for the recommendation.” Ildikó A. Szucs Ildikó A. Szucs, Br. 31: “I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the student aid scholarship presented to me by the HRFA. Your contribution will certainly help ease the financial burden of my college expenses. Currently, I am a senior at Kent State University in Ohio. I am a member of the Honor’s College as well as the Political Science Honorary Fraternity and Pre-Law Fraternity. I am working to complete my major in Political Science. Presently, I am interning in Washington, D.C. for Georgetown Criminal Justice Clinic. Upon graduation, I plan to attend Law School and pursue a career as a Criminal Defense lawyer. Once again, I would like to thank the HRFA for their support and aid in my education and in my future. Thank you, Mrs. Emma Aros, for the recommendation.” Michael Joseph Wos, Br. 368: ”1 am currently a student at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After I graduate from the Culinary Arts program, I will partake in the Baking and Pastry Arts program. I am involved with my church extensively. I have been an altar boy for Holy Rosary R.C. Church since I was in third grade. I have also been a lectern for the parish for six years. I have been a chef at my parish’s annual picnic for eleven years, and the church’s special function chef for the last six years. When Pope John Paul made his pilgrimage to
