FRATERNITY Page 27 BRANCH 370 - MIAMI, FL On December 17, 1995, Rev. Eva Lukacsi opened the annual meeting of our branch with prayer offered by Rev. László Lukacsi. In 1995 we supported the ministry of Bishop Tokes, the Transylvania School and Tessedik Fund, and in 1996 we anticipate reactivating members and concentrating on a membership drive. Officers elected for 1996 are: Rev. László Lukacsi, President; Albinka Szakács Bodor, Vice President; Gabor Nagy-Bozsoky, Treasurer; Rev. Eva Lukacsi, Secretary. Rev. Eva Lukacsi, Branch Manager & Secretary BRANCH 371 - MIAMI BEACH, FL At the annual meeting of our branch, held December 17, 1995, we elected the following officers for 1996: Endre Toth, President; Elizabeth Nagy, Vice President; Rev. László Lukacsi, Treasurer; Rev. Eva Lukacsi, Secretary. In 1995 we supported the AMOSZ. On September 24, 1996, we will hold a meeting to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Federation. Rev. Eva Lukacsi, Branch Manager & Secretary BRANCH 378 - SAN FRANCISCO, CA Our branch held its annual meeting on December 5, 1995 at 7:00 P.M. Branch President, the Rev. Eugene Katona opened the meeting with a prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. We remembered deceased member Paul Acsay. Our Branch Manager Margaret H. Saltzer reported on changes in the billing system, current responsibilities, and the gift of a hand-painted footstool to Home Office by Mr. Sándor Papp. She also presented informative background information about the HRFA to the guests present. Officers elected for 1996 are: Rev. Eugene Katona, President; Irene Tosaky, Vice President; Violette Katona, Secretary-Treasurer. We discussed the possibility of a local “centennial” celebration with a luncheon at the Hungarian Reformed Church. Those present contributed $20.00 to the Student Aid Fund. Both President and Branch Manager regularly visit elderly and/or ill members. Social events were held in conjunction with Hungarian Church programs; several members participated in March 15th, Mother’s and Father’s Day; October 23rd, and Christmas programs. President Katona arranged special events for visiting Bishop Forro and Dr. László Tokes, among others. Events for 1996 include a luncheon at the Hungarian Reformed Church, San Francisco & Vicinity to celebrate the Centennial Anniversary on February 11, 1996. At least one special events program will be held in 1996. Following the business meeting, the group celebrated the Christmas Season by reading Scripture, singing Christmas carols, reading international Christmas prose and poetry which our Branch Manager compiled and presented to the members. Rev. and Mrs. Katona provided delicious refreshments and Mrs. Saltzer brought homemade pastries. It was a good meeting! The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M. Margaret H. Saltzer, Branch Manager BRANCH 379 - HOLLYWOOD, CA Branch Manager Margaret H. Saltzer opened the meeting held on January 17, 1996, 7:00 P.M. Prayer was offered by the Rev. Denes Fodor. We remembered in prayer deceased members Rev. Charles Hethalmi-Path and Ferenc Dorka. The Branch Manager gave a brief resume about the HRFA to prospective members at the meeting. She stressed the importance of gaining new members and the need for cooperation from clergy and churches. We focused on ideas and tentative plans for a major citywide combined Centennial Celebration on September 29, 1996 at the Grace Hungarian Reformed Church, Tarzana, CA. Plans are to display an exhibit from the Home Office at all Hungarian Churches in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Rev. Fodor and the Branch Manager visit and/or correspond with elderly and ill members. The Hollywood Church participates in fundraising for Transylvania churches and the needy. The HRFA members participate in cultural and religious events. Officers elected for 1996 are: László Horvath, President; John Papp, Vice President; Katalin Papp, Secretary- Treasurer. Margaret H. Saltzer, Branch Manager BRANCHES 501 & 502 ■ ST. GEORGE DISTRICT, METUCHEN, NJ At the annual meeting of Branches 501 & 502 of the St. George District, we elected the following officers for 1996: John Krilla, President; Donna Balut, Vice President; Lawrence Toth, Treasurer; Richard Pauli, Secretary; James Krilla, Marshall. Our branch would like to welcome its youngest member into the Federation. She is Megan MacKenzie Pauli, daughter of Dawn and Richard Pauli of Piscataway, New Jersey. She was bom on July 17, 1995. Megan is the granddaughter of Margaret and Michael Pauli, Jr., of Metuchen, New Jersey. Margaret is the Branch Manager of the St. George District, Branches 501 and 502 and the HRFA Branch 250 in Woodbridge, New Jersey. Michael is on the Board of Directors of the HRFA.
