The children came with their parents and invited guests. The branch officers brought the main course and beverages while the guests brought the desserts and pastries. There were about fourteen children and with the adults we were altogether forty people. Dinner was opened with a prayer by Peg Fabri. We all enjoyed the delicious meal and fellowship. The children had a wonderful time, especially when they received their gifts from Branch Manager Arlene Csornán. Christmas carols were sung in honor of our Lord’s birthday. Branch President Joe Fabri and National Secretary Andy Csornán concluded the Christmas party with a few words and wished us all a blessed Christmas. A special thanks was extended to the children’s parents who took time in sub-zero temperatures to come to our party and also to the Ellwood City group for faithfully attending our branch activities. Our branch had a surprise shower for Kathy and Ed Kovács. These young people came to this country five years ago and have been members of the Federation for a few years now. Ed and Kathy recently bought a lovely house in the Beaver Falls area. We thought that as members of the branch, we would help them furnish their new home by having a shower. The shower was held in their home and all those who attended brought gifts for the new home along with their favorite casseroles and pastries. Ed and Kathy were naturally quite surprised and delighted. The evening was enjoyable and the fellowship very meaningful. Ed and Kathy are a lovely young couple and parents of a son Attila and daughter Kathleen. Peg Fabri, Secretary BRANCH 158 - VESTABURG, PA Branch Manager Irene Sinclair opened the annual meeting held on December 3, 1995 at 2:00 P.M. The opening prayer was by Mary Patrick. We will continue with our benevolent projects, i.e., collecting clothing for the needy, making care bags for battered women, collecting canceled stamps for a monastery, used eyeglasses for Lion’s Club, and food collection for the food bank. We decided that instead of exchanging gifts for Christmas, we would make a donation for our projects.
