Jolán Abel, Branch Manager BRANCH 31 - LORAIN, OH Christopher Mark Foisy Christopher Mark Foisy, son of Ray and Teri Foisy and grandson of Steven and Lena Dohányos, has received the Eagle Scout rank. Eagle Scout is the highest award of the Boy Scouts of America. The award was presented to Christopher by his uncle Eagle Scout Steven D. Dohányos of California. The candlelight ceremony was attended by about 200 relatives, friends and fellow scouts. Included in the ceremony was music sung by the Lorain High School Choraleers Show Choir of which Chris is a member and sang with them. In order to become a candidate for Eagle Scout, Chris earned a total of 22 Boy Scout Merit Badges, held the offices of Senior Patrol Leader, Treasurer, Librarian and Patrol Leader. He earned the God and Community Award also. To be able to become an Eagle, a scout has to plan and then perform a community service project. Chris took on a beautification project at the waterfall section of Days Dam in the Metropolitan Park System of Lorain county. This park is located in the same section of town as Christopher’s church, the Lorain Hungarian Reformed Church. He cleared and constructed a 1.5 mile walking trail that passes by the beautiful waterfall and is appropriately named the “Waterfall Trail.” Construction of the trail took 251 hours over a four-week period. Christopher is an honor student recently selected to be a member of the National Honor Society. Very active in his high school, he is a member of the Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Acapella Choir, Student Council, and he has played on the school’s soccer, tennis and golf teams. He is also director of the video club. For the second time in two years, he has been selected to be in Who’s Who among American high school students and was selected by his high school to represent them at Ohio’s Buckeye Boys State. Christopher served as president of the confirmation class at the Hungarian Reformed Church and also served as children’s choir director at the Avon Lake United Church of Christ. He is employed at Avon Oaks Country Club during the spring and summer months as a caddie and inside attendant. He has been a member of the HRFA since birth.
