Special thanks to Judy Campagna who brought a special touch with her lovely solos. Of course, we cannot forget to mention that the children under the direction of Zoltán Kovács sang traditional Hungarian Christmas songs and ended with “Boldog Karácsonyi Ünnepeket.” Our final Christmas activity took us to the homes of church members where the children of the Sunday school enthusiastically sang carols, starting a tradition to be pursued in the years to come. All in all it was a busy month, but the activities brought us closer to God’s purpose for the holiday season, the adoration of his Son and our reflective spirit to share His love. Arlene Csornán, Branch Manager Shepherds Tommy Cunning and Christian Kovács kneeling before the Holy Family Shepherds, Angels and Holy Family BRANCH 158 - VESTABURG, PA The annual meeting of our branch was held December 20, 1993 at 6 P.M. It was opened by President Irene Sinclair, and the prayer was offered by Mary Patrick. The treasurer’s report given by Mrs. Sinclair was accepted. We talked about hopefully picking up new members, but due to the continuing bad economy, we are having a hard time. Another local mine closed, laying off 500 more men. Officers elected for 1994 are: Irene Sinclair, President & Treasurer; Mary Patrick, Vice President & Secretary. We are continuing with our old projects: canceled stamps, used eyeglasses, incontinent pads for hospice patients, keeping up with our church projects, clothing and food collections for the needy. Each member brought a covered dish, and we shared an enjoyable evening of fellowship. The meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M. Irene Sinclair, Branch Manager BRANCH 181 - GR. Refreshments were donated by the branch officers. Santa Claus (who moonlights as László Lipoczky, HRFA Vice President) sat with each child and gave them promotional items provided by the Home Office, candy and a monetary gift from the Branch. As always, fun and fellowship were the only order of the day, and a good time was had by all.
