Page 14 TESTVÉRISÉG BRANCH 134 - GR. PITTSBURGH, PA Upon the request of Branch Manager, Olga Darnay, the Federation donated $100.00 to the Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne, PA on the occasion of their Hungarian Heritage Day Celebration. As a token of appreciation, the church addressed a letter to the Federation reading as follows: “On behalf of the minister and the congregation of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Duquesne, I want to personally thank the HRFA for its kind donation towards our Hungarian Heritage Day Celebration on July 25th. We really had an outstanding day - far exceeding our expectations. Everyone pitched in and made the occasion a huge success.” Photo taken in Ligonier, PA as President of the HRFA, George Dózsa presents the check to Lucille Chanyi, Treasurer of the Hungarian Reformed Church, Duquesne, PA. Standing next to Lucille is Secretary of the HRFA, Endre Csornán. The picture was taken in Ligonier, where it was so nice getting togethe with our Hungarian friends -1 wish there were more events for us to attend and socialize. Thanks again for helping our church. It was so greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Barbara J. Revak, Secretary.” Olga Darnay, Branch Manager BRANCH 198 - LIGONIER, PA The annual meeting of our branch was held in the dining room of the Bethlen Home on August 4, 1993. At 2:00 P.M., Branch Manager Edith Kovács opened the meeting, and Rev. Joseph Posta offered the prayer. It was reported that Mrs. Marie Homrocky, an old member of the Federation, passed away at the Bethlen Home. Members were reminded that because they belonged to a fraternal benefit organization, they were entitled to certain privileges. This year again, the Youth Group of the Hungarian Reformed Churches visited the residents of the Bethlen Home. The young people were treated with a barbeque specially prepared for them by the Bethlen Home. We have already started receiving donations for the replacement of the aging pine trees at the Bethlen Home. The officers elected for 1993 are: Rev. Paul Kovács, President; Esther Berkey, Vice President; Judy Minnick, Treasurer; Edith Kovács, Secretary. The meeting adjourned at 4:00 P.M. Edith Kovács, Branch Manager MRS.
