The Hungarian Reformed Church of Duquesne, Pa. held a Calendar Party and Salad Bar on April 18th of this year, followed by a Fashion Show. The affair was a huge success, with the proceeds going to the "Furnace Fund” of the Church. Everyone attending enjoyed the assortment of fabulous foods, and all the beautifully decorated tables. Many members of the Duquesne Church have been life-time members of the Federation. Olga Darnay, Branch Manager BRANCH 151 - BEAVER FALLS, PA The women of our branch and the Ladies Aid of the Third Avenue Presbyterian Church combined to hold a baby shower for Katica Kovács at the home of Elizabeth Rezes. Katica and her husband László arrived in Beaver Falls on November 11, 1990. László’s grandmother, Erma Molnár, and Elizabeth Rezes are first cousins. Erma was born in Beaver Falls in 1918 and taken back to the "old country" (Transylvania) when she was about 2 years of age. Desiring to see the country where his grandmother was born, László fulfilled this dream through his aunt Elizabeth. Katica and László are pursuing the possibility of becoming permanent residents of this country. When I asked him why he wanted to remain here while the rest of his family resided in Transylvania, he gave me several valid reasons. Naturally, the quality of life here compared to the hardships they endured in their homeland were his first considerations, but his love for our democratic system and the wonderful hospitality he experienced from the Hungarians he came in contact with were close seconds. His new daughter Katalin Kovács, born on May 18, 1993, has made him more determined than ever to seek citizenship in the USA. Katie and László are grateful to Elizabeth Rezes for sponsoring their trip and providing them with a home for the past several years. They are both members of the HRFA and about to add little Katalin to our membership in Beaver Falls. They have been active in branch life and the Third Avenue Presbyterian Church. From l. to r. The youngest member of our branch is Joshua M. Wilson who was bom on January 9, 1993. He is the son of Tammy and Gabor Wilson of Lorton, Va. We congratulate the family and wish Joshua much happiness in life. Arlene Csornán, Branch Manager Joshua M. Wilson
