Alex was born in Leechburg, PA on August 13, 1925. He married the former Joanne (Yolan) Thomas in 1949 in the Hungarian Presbyterian Church of Leechburg, PA. Alex was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Eu- ropean/African Theatres. He was a member of the V.F. W. of Leechburg, PA and D.A.V. of Vandergrift, PA. Alex was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church of Leechburg, PA. He was a self-employed contractor working in the Alle-Kiski Valley. He was well-known as a butcher for processing delicious Hungarian delicacies. Mr. Simon served as manager of Branch 150 of the HRFA from 1959 until his death. He took the branch over from his late father-in-law Mr. John Tamas. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Joanne Simon of Leechburg, a son Alex R. Simon of Sandy Lake, PA, two daughters Pamela Lapczyniski of Natrona Heights and Sharon Simon of Pittsburgh, PA. Alex will be missed by his fraternal family of the HRFA. Endre Csornán, Secretary
