FRATERNITY Page 17 BRANCH 35 - DETROIT, MI Our branch meeting was held in the afternoon of Sunday, October 31st at the American Hungarian Reformed Church in Allen Park, Michigan. President Amy Kulcsár opened the meeting at 1:30 P.M. by welcoming the members. Rev. Keith Robertson interim minister of the church offered the opening prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Secretary Louise Vespremi. Motion was made by Margaret New and seconded by Julius Dazy to accept the minutes as read. BRANCH 62 - E. CHICAGO, IN Director Vespremi, 1st left, together with members of Branch 35 Branch Manager Mrs. Ethel Teghze Gerber read the names of deceased members. Since this meeting, three wonderful members passed away: Andrew Kish, Cecilia Vespremi and Mary Horynak. Director Samuel Vespremi and the Secretary paid their respects on behalf of the branch and asked that God grant the deceased members eternal rest. On Sunday, November 14th, Director Vespremi and the Secretary reported on their trip to Toledo, OH to attend the English service, the banquet and the annual bazaar of the Church. On that occasion, Director Vespremi met with Branch Manager Mrs. Bacho with whom he discussed the membership and the officers’ election in 1994. Rev. Bertalan gave them a warm welcome at the Church. Since there was no more business to report, the meeting adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer. The election of officers for 1994 will be held in January 1994. Refreshments were served by President Amy Kulcsár. The Secretary Louise Vespremi extended best wishes for the Holidays to the members of the branch. Louise Vespremi, Secretary New business: Director Samuel Vespremi asked those present to help recruit new members for the Federation. The Branch Manager mentioned that she mailed out a large number of cards asking members to attend the branch meetings; however, the response was not positive. Mrs. Teghze Gerber also said that although she attends the church service at the Allen Park Church, she does not seem to have access to prospects through the church. Ethel Vig, who works for the church, said that she would put an ad in the church bulletin every Sunday in English and Hungarian, asking the members of the congregation to contact her personally or by phone with any questions they may have. We thank Ethel for her assistance in this matter.
