FRATERNITY Page 33 When I graduate from college, I hope to become a commodity futures broker. I would like to specialize in developing and implementing hedging programs for farmers and other agricultural interests. I would also like to speculate in the markets for myself and possibly a select few clients. When I am not working at a local grocery store as a service clerk, I enjoy playing golf. I am far from being good, but I can proudly say that my score has been improving this year. I also enjoy computer programming, reading, and watching television. Again, thank you for awarding me a scholarship.” BRUCE POI, Member of Br. 62 “I am very grateful towards you for donating a scholarship to me. The money will surely help to offset the, as you know, ever-in- creasing costs of a higher education. Thank you very much for your consideration. Currently I attend DePauw University, enrolled in the Music/Business curriculum. Classes after my first year have gone well, as I have worked for a grade point average of 3.71 after my first two semesters. With my degree, I hope to reside in New York City pursuing a career in music publishing. I also hope to continue playing the saxophone, and hope to pursue performance opportunities with this. Outside of school, I play the saxophone with two local bands, and also practice by myself. I am also playing slow-pitch softball twice a week in a league. Golf is a treasured activity, and I try to devote much time to playing the game as well as studying its history. Once again, I would like to thank you for your generosity in considering me for a scholarship.” Brian & Bruce were both recommended by Maria Kovács, Branch Manager MARGIT M. SYLVESTER, Member of Br. 80 “Thank you so much for the financial aid contribution! I am a junior enrolled at East Carolina University located in Greenville, N.C., pursuing a BA degree in Spanish. Currently I have interests in many areas of this field. My short term goal is to explore those interests during my next two years of undergraduate school and then continue on to graduate school. While here at E.C.U., I try to stay involved in as many activities as my schedule permits. This past year I was a member on the women’s soccer team and next year I hope to join the track and field team. However, my first priority is in maintaining my G.P.A. with which I have earned the honor of making the Dean’s List every semester, and even a semester on the Chancellor’s List which requires a perfect 4.0 G.P.A. Thank you once again for the support toward my education. Whichever road I decide to take, I will always be grateful to the Federation for their help.” Margit was recommended by Al St. Miklosy, Branch Manager
