FRATERNITY Page 17 As a sophomore I received outstanding effort in the Authors/Writers Network Short Story Contest. I was also a representative in the Multiple Sclerosis Word Encounters Contest. During my junior year, I received the Bausch & Lomb Science Award, was a semi-finalist in Governor's School, volunteered at Hamilton Hospital, and participated in the International Cultural Summer Program at Princeton. As a senior I received the "Who's Who Multiple Year Award", the "Garden State Scholar Award", the "Presidential Academic Fitness Award", the "State of NJ Young Citizens Award", second place in the "Voice of Democracy" Essay Contest, and merited the first place award from the ASAP for my editorial, "Bush's War on Drugs Continues". My other activities included four years on the Antonian staff and two years in both the National Honor Society and the tutoring program. Currently enrolled in the Honors Program at Towson State University, I have been accepted into the Occupational Therapy Masters Degree Program and plan to pursue a career in pediatric O.T. During my freshman year at T.S.U., I began a four-year work-study program to help pay for my tuition, coordinated a peer support group for handicapped students on campus, and joined T.S.U's Christian Organization, Campus Crusade for Christ. I extend my deepest appreciation to the HRFA for their time and generosity. It's nice to know that people still care and are willing to contribute to the future of our world. Once again, thank you very much for your donation." Andrea was recommended by Branch Manager Margaret Abraham Randy Brindza, Member of Br. 245 "I wish to express my gratitude and appreciation for your recent contribution towards my continued education. I am presently attending Penn State University. In 1992 I will transfer to Mansfield University and major in Fisheries. My goal is to be a Fisheries Biologist and with your gift I will be one step closer." Valerie Brindza, Member of Br. 245 "Thank you for the scholarship given to me from the HRFA. I attend Blooms- burg University and am currently a sophomore. I am majoring in Adult Health. I am also on the Bloomsburg University swimming team where I have earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division II Nationals. I am State Champion in the 200-yd. freestyle and ranked 5th nationally. Thank you." Randy & his sister Valerie were both recommended by Mitzi Berei, wife of Branch Manager Joseph Berei Howard E. Bujtor, Member ofBr. 176 "I have been attending San Jose State University since September of 1990. Previously, I attended a junior college near home. Currently, I am working toward a degree in Aerospace Engineering specializing in space system design and hope to continue my education and attain a post-graduate degree. With this type of degree I will apply to work with NASA either on the Space Shuttle, Space Station, or on satellite projects. My main goal in life, however, is to be an astronaut and actually go out into space with a project or experiment to be performed. I have been involved with school and community related activities since high school. I was with the Boy Scouts, the Civil Air Patrol, on the cross country and track teams, and have served as a student intern with the local county government. In college I participated in rugby and coached a youth indoor-soccer team at a nearby YMCA. The assistance the Federation granted me was appreciated as it helped me on the long road to realizing my life's goals." Howard was recommended by Julius Simon, Branch Manager
