On these occasions, Elizabeth recited her poem written in the Hungarian language as follows: JÓKÍVÁNSÁG A HAZÁNAK Nem vagyok költő, sem forradalmár Csak idegen ágra szálló madár Rabsorsom hazámból elűzött Mint ahogy elűzött még oly sok szenvedőt. Hiába a távolság, hiába az idegen Ez sem segít a meggyötört szíveken. Szemünkben még ott ül a fény, Visszatért szívünkbe újra a remény. Magyarok Istene segítsed a népet Ne hagyd elveszni e rég szenvedőket Szabadságot adj e népnek Ne adj helyet újabb bűnnek. Szóljon imádságunk a Mindenható Égnek Örök szabadságot a hős magyar népnek! The president thanked Elizabeth for her moving poem. Elizabeth Kastal is a refugee from Transylvania. Reverend Bertalan stated that it was the task of the Washington, D.C. branch to bring a harmonious relationship among all Hungarian organizations in the city. He emphasized the importance of the Kossuth House in our nation's capital; on the other hand he stressed the fact that it can only continue existing if we had enough membership. He then introduced the idea of Social Membership, per resolution adopted by the 33rd Convention.
