Maria Berei, Secretary Youngest member of Br. 245, Maria Julieanna Dworek, granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Geza Nemeth (also members of the Federation) BRANCH 259-LOS ANGELES, CA Annual meeting of our branch was held on January 20, 1991, 1:00 p.m., at the 1st Hung.Ref. Church of Los Angeles in Pasadena, CA. The meeting was called to order by Branch Manager Margaret Saltzer and the opening prayer was given by the Rev. Ferenc Gaal. The deceased members were remembered: Mrs. Ethel Almassy, Mr. James Bodnar, The Rev. Anthony Szabó, The Rev. Dezső Trombitás, Mr. Anthony Uzonyi, Mrs. Julia Vasvari. The new members were welcomed: The Rev. & Mrs. Ferenc Gaal and sons, Ferenc & Belian; former member Helen Szathmary's great-grandchild, Annual Meeting Branch 259, Los Angeles, CA January 20, 1991 Officers of Br. 259 — Left to right: Margaret Saltzer, Branch Manager; Tünde Garai, Treasurer; Katherine Hickey, President; Bela Biro, Vice President; Rev. Ferenc Gaal, Secretary Cydney Keller; Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Timas and son Daniel, Jr. Several members performed at church programs. Suggested branch activities for 1991 include: "Talent" show with prizes by HRFA, summer picnic, Hungarian dance classes for young people, feasibility study for Hungarian language summer school. Officers elected for 1991 are: Katherine Hickey, President; Dr. Bela Biro, Vice President; Rev. Ferenc Gaal, Secretary; Tünde Garai, Treasurer. The meeting was adjourned at 2:15 p.m. with the singing of the National Anthem.
