FRATERNITY Page 21 BRANCH 69—COLUMBUS, OH On Sunday, April 29, 1990, sixty-five members and guests gathered at the Hungarian Reformed Church Social Hall to enjoy dinner together and to honor those who have been members of the Federation for 50 years or more. Other honored guests were Mr. Endre Csornán, Vice President of the Board of Directors; Mr. John Morey, Board Member, Rev. & Mrs. Stephan Nyeste and children, and Mrs. Nyeste's parents visiting from Romania, Mr. & Mrs. Lajos Miko. After dinner and a short program, Mr. Csornán and Mr. Morey presented emblems to the 50-year members. Present at the dinner to receive the honors were Mrs. Elizabeth Dobos, Mrs. Lena Poczik, Mrs. Carrie Szekely, Mr. George Bockoras, Mr. Louis Poczik, Mr. Joseph Urban and Mr. Bertrand Wesney. Unable to attend the dinner were: Mr. John Robert Adams, Mrs. Margaret Myers, Mrs. Wm. Mulholland, Mrs. Erma Pache, Mrs. Stephan Reshan and Mrs. Anna Toth. The officers of Branch 69 wish to thank all those who attended, those who helped make the dinner a success, and the photographers who were kind enough to take pictures, Mrs. Olga Kovach and Mr. John Morey. BRANCH 165—AKRON, OH On April 10,1990, the annual meeting of our branch was held at the residence of our branch manager, Steve Ladich. The opening prayer was by Betty Patonai. We discussed the state of our sick members, the many church and nursing home activities (we paid at least 15 visits to nursing and rest home patients), and the forthcoming summer programs. We then elected the following officers for 1990: Steve Ladich, President; Elizabeth M. Patonai, Treasurer; Linda M. Nagy, Secretary. Linda M. Nagy, Secretary BRANCH 176—GARY, IN 1990. március 18-án vasárnap a Garyben lévő Református Egyháznál megemlékeztek az 1848-as szabadságharcról. Az ünnepségen az Észak Indianai református gyülekezetek és az East Chicago-i Római Katolikus egyházközség is részt vett. A Református Egyesületnek a 62-es és 176-os osztályai szintén képviselve voltak. A megemlékezés előtt a Gary egyház asszonyköre szolgálta fel az ebédet. A bejött összeget egy fehérvérűségben szenvedő kisfiú orvosi kezelésére adták. Ehhez az alaphoz a Református Egyesület helyi képviselője szintén átnyújtotta az Egyesület ajándékát. Az ünnepség az amerikai és a magyar himnusz eléneklésével kezdődött. Az ünnepi beszédet, amelyet Nt. Ludwig Károly (East Chicago, Whiting) mondott, hegedű szóló, éneklés és versmondás követte. A megemlékezés Skerl Atya imádságával záródott. Örültünk, hogy nemcsak emlékezhettünk őseink bátor kiállására, hanem a magunk módján ünneplésünkkel hozzájárulhattunk embertársunk megsegítéséhez. Rév. Following the opening prayer by Margaret Dubos, the minutes of the previous meeting and the treasurer's report were read and approved. It was announced that a bacon fry will be held.
