FRATERNITY Page 21 The secretary's minutes were read and accepted as read—by motion by Frank Mészáros and seconded by Margaret Boros. The treasurer's report was given, noting a balance of $254.95. The report was accepted by motion of Bert Wesney and seconded by John Komives. Mr. Csornán then spoke. He said we should encourage our branch to start activities — that the $200.00 sent from the Home Office should be used to promote an active branch, and not to hesitate to call or write to Rev. Bertalan. He advised our members that the Federation would give $20.00 to any youth attending summer camp; also that Student Aid is available to any 2nd year college member; also to inform members that mortgage loans for homes are available to members with good standing. He also brought to our attention how many times the Federation has helped churches on loans. He said our problem in the Federation and in churches is that we are losing our young people and that we should try our utmost to win their interest both in church and Federation. Rev. Nyeste said that he would like to work with our local branch to strengthen the branch and church to progress. President Leonardo stated that a dinner will be held at the church for Federation members — 50-year members and those 85 years old, or older. President Leonardo told the group that the branch had lost 24 members, 7 having passed away and 17 due to transfers and cancellations. He then stated that the meeting was open for nominations for officers for 1990. Mary Marton made a motion that the present officers should be renominated and elected for 1990, this was seconded by Carrie Szekely. A vote was taken and passed unanimously. The officers for 1990 are: Margaret Leonardo, President; Clara Sabo, Vice President; Rose Komives, Secretary-Treasurer.
