Page 10 TESTVÉRISÉG BRANCH NEWS BRANCH 3/39—FAIRPORT HARBOR/ ASHTABULA, OH J. Edward Bihary, President, called the meeting of February 5, 1989 at 11:45 a.m. to order. The opening prayer was by Rev. Louis Medgyesi. Motion was made to accept the minutes of the previous meeting, it was seconded and carried. The President reported that Branch 3 would be receiving $200.00 as seed money for the continuation of fraternal activities. The report on branch activities followed. The Branch Manager asked all members to be sure to inform the branch manager of any changes they wish to be made in their policies, such as change of beneficiary or in case of marriage, change of name. He also informed the members on the new low rates in our insurance portfolio. Rev. Louis Medgyesi, Member of the Board of Directors, reported on the Bethlen Home of Ohio project. He said that an "all-Ohio" picnic will be held on the grounds on June 24, 1989. There will be a meeting of all the branches involved to co-ordinate this project. He further mentioned that the national picnic will be held on July 16, 1989 on the grounds of the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, PA, and that it will be a two-day event this time. Members then discussed ways to raise money for further fraternal activities on the local branch level, such as fund-raising dinners, etc. There are plans for a local picnic, a bacon roast, on the church property sometime in the month of August. The election of the branch officers for 1989 fol­lowed—elected were: J. Edward Bihary, President; Elizabeth Medgyesi, Vice President; James Varga, Treasurer; Elizabeth Ticel, Secretary. The next meeting will on April 17, 1989 at 1:00 p.m. at the local church. On the agenda will be the planning of the Ohio picnic and the local picnic. The meeting adjourned at 1:45 p.m. with a prayer by Rev. Louis Medgyesi. Refreshments were served by Jenny Bihary and Elizabeth Medgyesi. /. Edward Bihary, Branch Manager BRANCH 4—CLEVELAND, OH The meeting for the election of the 1989-officers was opened with a prayer by Paul Leszko at the District Office on January 7, 1989. Elected were: Julia Leszko, President; Eva Menyhárt, Vice President; Jolán Abel, Treasurer; Susan Szabó, Secretary. It was decided at the meeting that a visit to the Bethlen Home in Ligonier, PA, would take place in the month of July of this year. Jolán Abel, Branch Manager BRANCH 13-PASSAIC, NJ New Associate Superintendent The new associate superintendent of schools in Northampton, Mass., is our very own Dorothy E. Molnár, daughter of Mrs. Helen Molnár and the late National Treasurer, Joseph Molnár. Dorothy began work for the city after leaving her job as an educational specialist with the state Department of Education's regional office in Chicopee. Superintendent Karen E. Conklin said there were no other semifinalists of the same caliber as Molnár and the School Committee vote was unanimous in affirming Conklin's choice. DOKOTHY E. MOLNÁR Dorothy has worked as an educator since 1969. During the past four years in her state job she has worked primarily with special education. She has lived in Northampton since moving from Michigan in 1975. She and her husband, Stephan Fenton, have a daughter, Sarton Molnar-Fenton, who is in the third grade. She also has a stepson, Gabriel Fenton, who attends the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She grew up in a bilingual Hungarian home in Garfield, NJ, and has also lived in Michigan and Washington, D.C., and is a lifetime member of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America. Dorothy received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, in 1969, a master's degree in education of economically disad­vantaged students from Western Michigan University in 1973, and a doctorate in early childhood education from University of Massachusetts in 1983.
