We believe your trip is timely and it will contribute to strengthening the forces of democracy in Hungary." After raising specific concerns, the memorandum ended with the following statement: "The American Hungarian institutions, churches, fraternal societies, with a history of one hundred years of service, are ready to renew our own commitment to serve the legitimate aspirations of the Hungarian people."
