Plans were made for the next meeting. Members promised to visit old and sick members of the community. John K. Vajda, secretary BRANCH 100 - HOBART Branch Manager Lorette S. Takacs called the meeting to order. Rev. Zsolt S. Takacs led in prayer. The following were elected: Lorette S. Takacs, president; Rev. Zsolt S. Takacs, vice president; Tanya Dash, treasurer; Lorette S. Takacs, secretary. The present membership promised to try to interest the other members to attend up coming meetings. Lorette S. Takacs, secretary BRANCH 140-CANTON President Steve Bodo opened the annual election meeting. The opening prayer was given by John Dohy. The following were elected: Steve Bodo, president; Steven Bodo, vice president; Margaret R. Bodo, secretary-treasurer. The new rates and how to get new members were discussed. President Steve Bodo adjourned the meeting. Margaret R. Bodo, secretary BRANCH 149 — TONAWANDA The following were elected at the annual election meeting: Stephen Syposs, president; Andrew F. Keleman, vice president; Helen O. Syposs, secretary-treasurer. It was decided to send $15.00 to the Student Aid Fund from Branch 149. Future plans were discussed. Helen O. Syposs, secretary BRANCH 151 - MORGANTOWN This once busy coal mining town has not only boarded up the shafts that led to the deep mines, but it has taken its toll on the second and third generations of Hungarians as well. Many of the young people drifted to the big cities where they could find jobs. All the branch activity is slowed down, out still they have Irene Sakalo, Branch Manager of 132 who regularly visits her members. Irene is very active in her community. She travels with a senior citizen band entertaining in area nursing homes. She makes afgans, lap pads, slippers, and other crafts to take to the elderly, and shutins. God bless Irene for her Christian endeavors and for carrying on the tradition of founders of the Hungarian Reformed Federation. Endre Csornán, Director BRANCH 151 - BEAVER FALLS Congratulation to Donald Eiler, a member of Branch 151, Beaver Falls, for winning the Republican nomination for District Justice of Beaver Falls. Donald is a Private Detective with his own security business and polygraph service. He was a patrolman for twenty years and retired as Police Chief for the city of Beaver Falls. He has an Associate degree in Criminal Justice and was a former instructor for the Community College of Beaver County. He has a B.A. in Sociology and graduated from a polygraph school in Georgia at the top of his class. Donald and his wife of thirty years reside in Beaver Falls and have three children. Arlene Csornán, Branch Manager BRANCH 165 - AKRON At the annual election meeting the following were elected: Steve Ladich, president; Elizabeth M. Patonai, treasurer; Linda M. Rounds, secretary. BRANCH 154 and 176 - CHICAGO Az osztályok tisztviselő választó gyűlést tartottak március 14-én. 28 tag jelent meg Simon Gyula osztálykezelő lakásán. A gyűlést Rév. A. Skerl osztályelnök nyitotta meg imával. Elnök a tisztikar nevében bejelentette lemondását. A tagok bizalma újra jelölte az eddigi tisztviselőket, akik vállalták az osztály további vezetését. Skerl A. lelkipásztor, osztályelnök rövid beszámolót tartott az elmúlt évről. Az egyesület élete mozgalmas volt a jubileumi évben. Az Egyesület mindenütt megmutatta, hogy él és gyarapszik. Azután Simon Gyula számolt be washingtoni útjáról. A központi tisztviselők meghívásának tett eleget a székház avatásával kapcsolatban. Elmondotta, hogy milyen szép az új épület, melyre az egész magyarság büszke lehet. Az ünnepség maradandó nyomot hagyott lelkében.
