Morey, Secretary BRANCH 35 - DETROIT, Ml Meeting of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, Branch 35 was held November 19, 1986, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hungarian Reformed Church, Allen Park, Michigan. The meeting was called to order by President James Kish and the opening prayer was offered by Rev. Bertalan. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Michael Juhasz, treasurer, gave his report and thanked Mr. and Mrs. John Bujdoso for the donation of a new treasurer book. It was suggested that in the future, the secretary and treasurers books and all related correspondence be turned over to the newly elected officers of Branch 35. Mrs. Ethel Teghze, branch manager, was asked to report on communication from the Home Office and status of membership. This fiscal year we had eight deceased and gained sixty-five new members. We congratulated Mrs. Teghze for being second place winner for selling the most policies. Sam Vespremi questioned the branch manager regarding the progress of Federation dividends on individual policies. She explained that the Home Office is exploring the different options that have to be approved by the legal department, and by internal revenue and at this time has no additional information on this matter. Motion was made and seconded that branch manager contact the Home Office and request an update of the matter of dividends. Next on the agenda, President James Kish read the article from the recent issue of Fraternity — Testvériség requesting donation to help pay the medical expense for the six month old boy with a very rare and fatal heart ailment born in Budapest, Hungary. The HRFA is asking members to join with the good people of Cleveland to make donations to offset the clinical expense incurred with this operation. It was agreed that we participate in raising funds for this cause and a motion was made that caninster be distributed and placed in all Hungarian organizations and churches. President appointed a committee of Zoltán Ambrus, Michael Juhasz, Sam Vespremi and John Bujdoso. The canisters will be supplied by Moslem Shrine Temple of Detroit and donations will be directed to Michael Juhasz, treasurer and then forwarded to HRFA. No further business, we adjourned at 3:20. Secretary Julie Bujdoso A Detroit-i 35-ik osztály decemberben (1986) tartott rendkívüli gyűlésén elhatározta, hogy a Testvériségben hirdetett magyarországi kisgyermek segélyezési ügyét támogatni fogja. Ez az a kisgyermek, akinek speciális szív operációra van szüksége, melyet csak itt Amerikában, Cleveland, Ohio- ban tudnak az orvosok elvégezni, amit el is válal- tak. Egy magyar utazási iroda a jegyet biztosította, de a klinikai és más kiadásokhoz volt szükség segítségre. Kish Imre elnök, Juhász Mihály pénztárnok, Bujdosó Jánosné titkár perselyeket készítettek és azokat magyar központokban elhelyezték. A január 22-én tartott évi első gyűlésen a perselyeket felbontották és 150 dolláros összeget erre a célra az Egyesület központjába beküldtük továbbítás végett. Ebben benne van a Szatmár megyei Egyesület hozzájárulása is. A januári rendes gyűlésen a múlt évi tisztikart egyhangú lelkesedéssel újra választották. Érdemeiket, a debreceni Kántus koncertje körüli munkájuk miatt, az Egyesület alelnöke külön elismerésben részesítette. Tervbe vette az osztály, hogy „Egyesületi Napot” tartanak az év tavaszán, amikor is országos elnökünket meghívjuk: a cél a helyi csoport munkája megerősítése és az országos munkában való részvétel szorosabb együttműködése s a tervezett program további kiépítése. Tudósító BRANCH 62 - EAST CHICAGO Az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyesület 62- ik osztályának rendes negyedévi gyűlésén a következők történtek: Az osztály elnöke Bujtor István köszöntötte a megjelent tagokat. Hangsúlyozta a magyar szervezetek együttműködésének fontosságát. Kovács Mária titkár a jegyzőkönyv felolvasásával megköszönte azoknak munkáját, akik részt vettek Nt. Orth Győző pappá szentelésének 50. éves évfordulója alkalmából tartott ünnepségen. Köszönetét fejezte ki a tagoknak erre az alkalomra megszavazott adományért. Kovács József osztály vezető a Horzsa család legnagyobb örömére ünnepélyesen átadta Egyesületünk elnöke Bertalan Imre által küldött ösztöndíjat. Megemlítette, hogy a Horzsa Katika és Árpád
