She is 90 years old and stil keeps up her own house. Mr. Lestei (László) Sabo of Carteret, NJ, immi­grated to the United States through Ellis Island in 1921. 1921 — Valahol a tömegben Horváth Sándor (New Brunswick). Mr. Joseph Sido of Lorain, OH, was 16 years old when he left Hungary together with his mother to come to America — his father having died in Hungary at the age of 42. They embarked the S/S “Lapland” in Antwerp, Belgium, and reached Ellis Island on June 11, 1911. Mr. Bertalan Varadi of Bethlehem, PA, emigrated from Hungary to America in 1920. He was born in 1905 in Beregszász, Bereg Megye. To sum up the courage and dedication of these wonderful people, here is an excerpt of Mrs. Esther Daku Lekka’s daughter’s letter which is our dedi­cation to all: “I and my sister are very proud of our mother and father; for their courage to come to a country where they could not speak the language; to raise a family, become independent and good citizens. We are proud of the great Hun­garian heritage that was given to us. The fact that my mother made my sister and I attend Bible school for the entire summer in order that we not only learn from the Bible but learn to read and write in Hungarian.” (All letters and documentation will be stored in our Bethlen Home Archives.)
