JULIUS HARTMAN 1902-1986 The entire Cleveland Hungarian community was saddened at hearing the news of the death of Julius Hartman. He entered into rest on January 14, 1986 at the age of 83 following a heart attack at his home. Mr. Hartman was a retired grocer and enjoyed working for all causes which promoted our Hungarian culture and heritage. He belonged to the First Hungarian Reformed Church, Cleveland, Ohio, and was a very dedicated and loyal supporter. He had belonged to the Hungarian Choir, Churchmen’s Brotherhood and other organizations. On several occasions he represented Branch 2 of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America as a delegate to the Convention. The many kind deeds done by our dearly departed will long be remembered as he was always available to help those in need. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 17th at the First Hungarian Reformed Church with Dr. Stephen Szabó, Pastor Emeritus, officiating and being assisted by the Rev. Frank Juhasz Shepherd. A eulogy in behalf of the family was given by the son-in-law, Elmer E. Vargo, Vice President-Secretary of the Federation. At the wake services at the funeral chapel on Thursday evening, words of comfort were delivered by Rev. Stephen Szilagyi, newly elected pastor of the Church who drove in from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
