NEW BUSINESS: President Vespremi men­tioned to the members to read the Fraternity and if they are not receiving it, please contact the Branch Manager and also, if any member dies or is sick, please contact him since he and the Sec­retary will pay their respects on behalf of the branch. If anyone knows about anyone who wishes to purchase insurance, please contact Mrs. Teghze- Gerber. At our next meeting host and hostesses will be Frank Kender, Mary Boka and Louise Ves­premi. There being no further business, the Pres­ident called upon Bishop Abraham for the closing prayer and the Hungarian National Anthem was sung. Louise Vespremi, Secretary Note: I wish to add a comment about the speech made by Louise Vespremi, Lujza. Her speech was made in pure native Hungarian and I was delighted by her well spoken words. I thanked her for her dedicated speech about our Federa­tion. Thank you Lujza and God be with you in your heartfelt support of our Federation and our branch life. Ethel Teghze-Gerber, Branch Manager BRANCH 50, 149, BUFFALO, NY Hungarian Action, Inc., a local group in the Buffalo NY area was responsible in bringing a 5 year-old Hungarian girl whose life depends on a heart operation to Children’s Hospital, Buffalo, in March. Agnes Fule arrived with her parents, László a physician and her mother, Piroska from Cegled. Over $12,000 was raised by the commu­nity and the branches of the Buffalo area, 50 and 149 supported and assisted in the project. The surgery occurred on March 20th and so far the recovery is proceeding as anticipated. Elvira Petry BRANCH 67, SHARON, PA With all officers present the President opened the meeting on January 2, with a prayer. Min­utes of the previous meeting were read and ap­proved. The Secretary reports that a note of thanks was received from Sherry Humbertson, the Activity Director of the Bethlen Home for the generous donation of money from members of Branch #67 for the annual Bazar. It was held Dec. 5 and 6, 1984. A thank you to the Secretary also for her help on Saturday and Sunday at the Bazar. The affair was a success and was attended by many members of the HRFA in the Pittsburgh area. The Secretary thanks members for their gene­rous support of the Bethlen Home and Student Aid Fund in 1984 and requests the same support be carried over this year of 1985. The Secretary also thanked those members that help support the M.C.A.R. of Mercer County. There were ap­proximately 200 hours of volunteer work given in 1984. A good cause also. The President reported to the members that many hours of work is done at the Bethlen Home by wives of the officers and directors of the HRFA such work as mending, sewing, labeling, visiting residents and whatever they are called up­on to assist with. A motion was made and properly seconded that present officers be re-elected for 1985. President — William Szuch; Vice-president — Frank Nagy; Secretary-Treasurer — Helen Szuch. The officers were installed by the election chairman, John Pa- lisin. In the name of the officers the President thanked the members for their confidence. The newest and youngest member of Branch #67, Sharon, Pa. is Alexandra Ditje Miller, daugh­ter of Captain and Mrs. Mathew Miller who also are members of Branch #67. The mother Edith, is the daugther of Rev. & Mrs. Paul Kovács, Ad­ministrator of the Bethlen Home.
