Page 6 TESTVÉRISÉG NATIONAL TREASURER- BRANCH NEWS ­William Bela Puskas, elected National Treasur­er by the Convention, 1984, was born in Sanros- seg, Hungary. He gradu­ated from the Reformá­tus Gimnázium, Debre­cen in 1946, and came to the United States in 1947. He entered the US Army in September, 1950, was honorably dis­charged in August, 1952 having served with the First Army as Medical Technician. Upon receiv­ing his Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University (NJ) he began 22 years of service in the fraternal insurance industry, of which the last 17 years has been with the Federation. Besides being an agent, he was section manager, district and area manager on the eastern sea-board. He has been a licensed insurance broker in the state of New Jersey for more than 20 years. Mr. Puskas is married to Onerva Ullven, his Finnish “pen pal” of 15 years. They finally met in France. Their son, William has his law offices in New Brunswick, NJ. Mr. Puskas brings to the Federation his ex­pertise pertaining to the insurance industry. He has experience in every aspect of the field having been a sales person, and in instructor of new agents and branch managers. Throughout his adult life he has been a true fraternalist — always ready to assist anyone in his community as needed. We wel­come Mr. Puskas as one of the three national of­ficers of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America ! The 90th Anniversary of the First United Church of Christ, observed in the fall of 1984, offered oc­casion for HRFA members to meet also. It is with­in this congregation that Branch #1 functions. John Nagy was the dedicated branch manager for many years. Upon his death, John Koi became the branch manager. BRANCH 2, CLEVELAND, OH The first meeting of 1985 was held on January 6 at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, Cleveland, at 12:30 pm. The meeting was called to order and the treas­urer’s report was given by Richard Sarosi in the absence of his mother. In 1984 the branch had made a $200 donation to the Student Aid Fund and the Bethlen Home of the HRFA. A $15 donation had been made to the United Hungarian Societies of Cleveland; the profit from the card party was $141.05, leaving a net balance of $325.60. This amount to be placed to the audit committee for inspection. The business at hand was the election of of­ficers. President Szabó called for the nominations from the floor — the elected officers are: President — Joseph Kovach; Vice-president — Dr. Daniel Vizsolyi; Treasurer — Violet Sarosi; Secretary — Edward Szabó; Comptroller — Irene Waszil.
