BOX 34917 BETHESDA, MD 20817 RESOLUTION 53 A MOTION WAS MADE AND SECONDED AS SUBMITTED BY THE COMMITTEE THAT THIS REQUEST SHOULD NOT BE SUPPORTED. MOTION CARRIED YES: 10; NO: 4 VARGO/ PUSKAS/DOZS A/LIPOCZKY. (f) The church uniting efforts of the Hungarian Reformed people in America be supported by financial contributions of the Federation to help them in their endeavors to work together in such fields as national and world-wide missions and in calling together Hungarian Reformed Ecumenical Congresses of Hungarian Reformed leaders living outside of Hungary. (g) The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America make a strong appeal to all Hungarian Reformed denominations to establish a mutual, helping relationship in extending our insurance and fraternal services to them. The same appeal to be adopted toward all American-Hungarian organizations, clubs and societies. A list of these addresses should be collected by the Branch Managers and Members of the Board. (h) IT IS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE DIRECTORS OF THE NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK AND CONNECTICUT DISTRICT SHOULD CONTINUE TO EXPLORE THE FEASIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING AN EXTENSION OF THE BETHLEN HOME ON THE EAST COAST WITH EMPHASIS IN SERVING THE NEEDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE AND RETIRED PERSONS. RESOLUTION 55 A MOTION WAS MADE AND SECONDED THAT A FRATERNAL GIFT OF $100.00 PER MONTH BE GRANTED TO HOME OFFICE EMPLOYEE, DR. GEORGE B. TOPOR UPON HIS RETIREMENT, EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 1985. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO BE PASSED WITHOUT PREJUDICE. MOTION CARRIED: YES - 13; NO - 1 /ABRAHAM. (i) A DISCUSSION FOLLOWED ON THE TERM “INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR” AND IS TO BE CLARIFIED AT THIS MEETING WITH THE HELP OF OUR LEGAL AND FINANCIAL COUNSELOR. RESOLUTION 56 IT WAS UNANIMOUSLY PASSED THAT THE DISCUSSION ON THE TERM “INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR” BE TABLED. 31 — The following matters were presented by the committee and are acknowledged. (a) The Federation consider the sponsoring of the Debrecen Kollegium Choir’s tour as a feature for our 90th anniversary celebration in 1986, in cooperation with the American-Hungarian Reformed Ministerial Association and the respective denominations. A feasibility study should be reported at March 25, 1985 meeting of the church uniting group. (b) That for the 1985 and 1986 fraternal projects and celebrations committees be formed in the respective areas. This is the primary responsibility of the Board Members who have representation in all geographical areas. This event to take place in cooperation with the Branch Officers and Convention Delegates. (c) The dates and places of the Spring District Meetings are as follows: NJ, NY, CT 6 Eastern PA: March 23, 1985 — Saturday, 9:30 P.M. Western PA Ó Western VA: March 30, 1985 — Saturday, 9:30 A.M. at the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Pittsburgh, PA Ohio, Michigan Ó Michigan Area: April 27, 1985 — Saturday, 9:30 P.M. at the Hungarian Reformed Church, Lorain, OH RESOLUTION 57 IT WAS UNANIMOUSLY PASSED THAT THE REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE AND ORGANIZATION COMMITTEE BE ACCEPTED. 32 — With nothing further to come before the meeting, the President wished everyone a safe journey and closed the Spring Board of Directors meeting with a prayer.
