Page 8 TESTVÉRISÉG MINUTES of the 32nd Convention of the Hungarian Re­formed Federation of America held in Ligonier, Pennsylvania on September 17-21, 1984. I. First Day, September 17 ,1984 1) President Imre Bertalan declared the 32nd Convention of the Hungarian Reformed Federa­tion of America officially opened at 2:15 P.M. 2) The Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy offered the opening prayer. 3) The Convention sang the National Anthem and the Hungarian Himnusz. 4) Delegate John K. Morey led the Convention pledging alleiangce to the flag of the United States of America. 5) Vice-President-Secretary Elmer Vargo re­ported that the Board of Directors has unanimous­ly elected Dr. Aladar Komjáthy to serve as the sec­retary of this Convention and the secretary was of­ficially seated. 6) At the request of Vice-President William Szuch, chairman of the Credential Committee Di­rector Charles Modory read the report of the Cre­dential Committee EXHIBIT I. Since an appeal was made to the Convention by Rev Zoltán Szuch of Lorain, Ohio Branch 31, re­questing that his complaints may be heard by the Convention. It was moved and seconded to hear the above-mentioned appeal. The motion was defeated by a vote of 19 for, and 26 against. The Convention unanimously accepted the rec­ommendations of the Credential Committee that the 71 delegates recognized as such be the voting members of this Convention. 7) Roll call of the Convention was read by the secretary. All 71 delegates were present. EXHIBIT II. 8) Treasurer Joseph Molnár introduced home of­fice worker Irene Vallario, who gave the necessary information about the vouchers to be filled out by all delegates. 9) President Imre Bertalan read his official greet­ings to the members of the Convention both in English and in Hungarian. EXHIBIT III 10) The agenda was unanimously adopted as printed. EXHIBIT IV 11) Vice-President Secretary Elmer Vargo read the recommendation of the Board of Directors in reference to the renumeration of the Convention delegates. It was moved, seconded, and amended that the delegates be paid the sum of 875.00 for the dura­tion of the Convention, 150.00 dollars for both travelling days, 20 cent mileage and tolls. It was unanimously accepted. President Bertalan appointed delegate Miklós Novak as parlamentarian of this Convention. 12) The reports of the President, Vice-President Secretary, Treasurer, Bethlen Home, Legal Coun­sellor, and the Medical Directro were presented to the Convention. It was moved, and seconded, and amended that the reading of these reports be waived since they had been distributed to the del­egates, and they be referred to the respective com­mittees. EXHIBIT V. Medical Director Dr. Katalin Korossy made a few remarks to the delegates and answered ques­tions from the floor. 13) Vice-President William Aros read the report of the Board of Directors. EXHIBIT VI It was unanimously accepted. 14) Financial Counsellor A1 Eglow presented the report of Koppelman & Eglow and answered ques­tions from the floor. EXHIBIT VII. The report was unanimously accepted. 15) The Committee assignments of the President were read by the secretary. EXHIBIT VIII. It was accepted without change. 16) It was moved, and seconded, that the pro­posed amendments to the By-Laws be discussed in the Plenary Session in conjunction with the Pres­ident’s Committee. It was unanimously accepted. 17) At the request of the President the invited guests of the 32nd Convention former President Arpad George, former Secretary Joseph Kecskeme- thy and former Executive Vice-President László Eszenyi addressed the Convention, and were re­ceived by standing ovation. 18) The Rt. Rev. Tibor Dömötör led the closing devotions. The meeting was adjourned by the President at 5:10 P.M. II. Second Day, September 18, 1984. 19) President opened the plenary session at 9:00 A.M. The Rev. Louis Illés conducted the morning devotions. President Imre Bertalan eulogized the former leaders and workers of the Hungarian Re­formed Federation of America who left this transi­tory world and entered into God’s heavenly king­dom. The Convention stood in silent prayer in their memory and sang the traditional Hungarian hymn for the liturgy of commital. 20) The roll-call was read by the Secretary. All 71 delegates were present. 21) The Minutes of the previous day’s plenary
