FRATERNITY Page 17 BRANCH 5 - BETHLEHEM, PA The Reverend and Mrs. Sándor Babos, attended the Feb. 13, 1984 Sheppard Air Force Base (Texas) Change of Command Ceremony. Their son, Col. Sándor Babos has taken command of the 80th Flying Training Wing of the Air Training Command. Many of us recall when the Babos family arrived to Princeton, NJ from their missionary post in Mukden, China. For months they visited our churches telling of their experiences in China. Sándor, the eldest of their three children, amazed us with his Hungarian. Colonel Babos is a product of our Hungarian-American church life, having lived in New Jersey, Pittsburgh, and Fairfield, CT. He received his B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, PA and entered active duty in October, 1960. He graduated from pilot training in 1966 and served as an instructor pilot until 1970. After assignments in Florida, California, Alabama, Texas and Thailand, he was assigned to NATO, Oslo, Norway. From 1977-1980 he served at RAF Bentwaters, United Kingdom. In 1980 he was assigned to the Headquarters, United States Air Forces in Europe. Col. Babos is a command pilot with more than 6,000 flying hours and 247 combat missions. His military decorations and awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. Col and Mrs. Babos have two children: Jeffrey and Scott. It is good to read of the interesting work of our children. We extend the congratulations of the entire Federation family to the Babos’! The newly elected officers for 1984 are: President — Rev. Louis Nagy; Vice-president — Ferenc Balázs; Secretary — Katherine M. Nagy; Controller — Jerry Stewarf; Branch Manager — Rev. Louis J. Nagy. BRANCH 21 - TOLEDO, OH Branch 21 of Toledo met on January 22, 1984 in Calvin United Church of Christ at 10 am. Louis Sendi, president, called the meeting to order and we were lead in prayer by Stephen Molnár. Communications were read, including a card which we received from the Activities Director of the Bethlen Home thanking us for our donation to the bazaar in December. $175 were sent to the Home Office for the Scholarship Fund. Branch 21 also donated $50 to the 80th Anniversary of Calvin United Church of Christ. The money was from the proceeds of the brunch plus some of the members also donated. Charlie Aslos asked what happens to the money which was unclaimed as indicated in a Fraternity issue. We told him we would find out. The article in the Frattmity about “Is Your Beneficiary Current” was very good because a lot of people have been checking the policies and are changing the beneficiary. The question came up about scholarship. Who or how can they get scholarships? We explained that the young people have to be a member in good standing in order to apply. Our next meeting will be held on June 24, 1984 at 11 am in Calvin Hall at Calvin United Church of Christ to elect delegate to the convention in September. The same officers were unanimously elected for 1984: President — Louis Sendi; Vice President — Alan A. Bacho; Secretary — Mary S. Bacho; controller — Albert A. Bacho. Since we had no further business we adjourned. Mary S. Bacho BRANCH 22 - YOUNGSTOWN, OH The meeting was called to order on Jan. 15, 1984 at 11:20 am with an opening prayer.
