FRATERNITY Page 19 — DISTRICT MEETINGS — The district meetings of the spring season are always of great importance in the life of the Federation. These are the occasions when the National Officers and the Board of Directors, meet with the field force and branch managers. Together we look at the past year and discuss plans for the future. It was with great expectation that once again we sat down with the life-line of the HRFA. Over 130 dedicated people gathered in the four locations to share information, problems and ideas. Concerning 1982 — it was reported that although there were many surrenders and little production, due to the uncertain future, the Federation none the less grew in assets. Our Solvency Ratio which had been 123, now stands at 130. (Solvency — the margin of assets over liabilities, indicates financial soundness and the company’s ability to meet obligations as they become due.) Attention was focused on the future. With the changes, such as compensation, portfolio, partial computerization, etc., it became evident that we approach the immediate future with much anticipation. Each and every branch manager will have a greater roll in writing and thus, raising production. They pledged themselves to the three fold goal — New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Eastern Pennsylvania better insurance service, increased production, and renewed fraternal life at the branch level. Our meetings were held at the Free Magyar Reformed Church, McKeesport, PA; at the Hungarian Reformed Church, Passaic, NJ; at the Christ Reformed Church, Akron, OH; and the Hungarian Reformed Church, Allen Park, Mich, with lay and ministerial representation. The ladies of the respective churches treated us to the best of their culinary efforts, to the satisfaction of the guests! Thank you ladies for the delicious food. Thank you congregations for the use of your buildings — we, too, are proud that we had a hand in the creation of these institutions through the loans granted to many churches. Through these meetings we reenforced the idea that the HRFA began as lay people and pastors through common support, aimed to help their fellowman. We also express our appreciation to Joseph Molnár, Jr., William Puskas, László Kernes, Dr. Tibor Halo and their respective staffs for arranging the meeting in their district. NOW — let us put our faith in the Federation - INTO ACTION! Rev. Imre Bertalan In New Jersey In New Jersey
