BRANCH NO. 302 — NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ Among those present were the Branch Officers, Presi­dent, Rev. Imre Bertalan, Directors George Dózsa and Joseph Tegze and Area Manager William Puskas and his wife. The new office is more conveniently located and will continue to serve the members as faithfully and diligently as heretofore. Ida Bankó Edward S. Barboe received the degree of Bach­elor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the May 1981 commencement from Rutgers University, College of Engineering, New Brunswick, New Jersey. As of the first of June, he has embarked on his pro­fessional career as a design engineer with a service consultants firm and recently transferred to Texas. Joseph Gyenes, Ida Bankó, Charles Kovács, Géza Sanislo, Ernest Kovács, Steve Vajda for Elizabeth Nagy, John Szabó recipients of Meritorious Service Awards. On Saturday, October 3, 1981 the New Jersey branches celebrated the 85th Anniversary of the Hungar­ian Reformed Federation of America at the Hungarian American Athletic Club in New Brunswick, NJ. A deli­cious meal was enjoyed by more than 300 guests. The music was provided by the Kara-Nemeth-Chubak Orchestra. László Lippoczy, president of Branch 302 and his committee did an excellent job on the theme of frater- nalism within the Federation for the past 85 years. A very attentive audience gave a rousing ovation to the speaker and everyone felt that the spirit of fraternalism was present at the occasion. Some of our old-time workers were honored with cit­ations - Meritorious Service Award - which were pres­ented by Vice President-Secretary Elmer Vargo and Treasurer Joseph Molnár. Citations were given to Ida Bankó, Imre Bogár, the Rev. Dr. Andrew Kosa, Charles Kovács, Ernest Kovács, Elizabeth Nagy, Helen Putnoky, Joseph Gyenes, Geza Sanislo and John Szabó, Also present were Directors George Dózsa, Joseph Tegze and the Rev. Gabor Csordás. The William Penn Association was represented by Director Radvanyi and his wife. (Trenton, NJ) It was a very successful affair, a fitting celebration for the 85th Anniversary. As an undergraduate, he had enrolled in his freshman year at the University after fulfilling the requirements for his diploma in the third year at John P Stevens High School, Edison, New Jersey. He also was one of the winning essayists in a National Youth Study Contest, sponsored by the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America, Wash­ington, D.C. Entitled “Memoirs of an Alumnus of the Bethlen Hungarian Summer School Camp,” the theme in general, was a capsule of real life experi­ences at the Bethlen Home for Children during a period of time in the history of its existance at Ligonier, Pennsylvania. The location of the DISTRICT OFFICE in New Brunswick, NJ was moved on November 1st to a nearby office at 251 SOMERSET STREET. The new office was dedicated with an Open House on Saturday November 7th. Delicious food and drinks were served. The delicious cakes were made among others, by Julia Tompa and Matilda Dosza. BRANCH 295 — AURORA, ILLINOIS After many years of faithful service, Emery Ka- koczki has retired as branch manager. The new ma­nager is: Mrs. Irene Zaha, 333 West Park Avenue, Aurora, Illinois 60005. 9
