REPORT of the PRESIDENT for the year of 1980 Distinguished Members of the Board: Dear Brethren: In 1935 I was ordained into the Christian ministry. By the grace of God I served three Hungarian congregations during the thirty-three years of my pastoral ministry. Great was the honor when I was called to serve as a member of the Supreme Council of the HRFA in 1960. Greater was the challenge when I was elected National Secretary of the HRFA in 1968. Greatest was the responsibility when I was elected National President of the HRFA in 1976. According to our by-lawe at the end of 1980 I reached the compulsory retiring age. After serving the Federation for twenty years, the time has come to write my last official annual report and in' it to bid my farewell to the National Officers and to the Board of Directors. For twenty years I had the privilege to enjoy the brotherly love and fraternal fellowship of the Board members. I want to express my thanks for the help, cooperation and goodwill I experienced in my work for the Federation during the pa3t two decades. These cherished precious memories I take with me into my retirement glorifying God for his mercy, grace and love. STATE AND PROVINCIAL LICENSES The 1979 Annual Statement and all other documents requested by the fourteen states and the Ontario Canadian Province in which the Federation operates were prepared by the Koppelman and Eg- low, Certified Public Accounts in South Orange, New Jersey and the C.P.S. Actuaries — Miles M. Dawson and Son in Stamford, Connecticut. EXAMINATION OF THE INSURANCE DEPART- MENT OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA Prior examinations of the D.C. Insurance Department were made in 1968, 1974 and 1976. In the report of the 1968 examination the inspectors requested a code of procedure or resolution on conflict of interest for the Board of Directors. In 1974 the inspectors requested that such a code must be signed annually by every Board of Dircetor. The examiners were pleased to ascertain that the National Officers and the Board of Directors compiled with the D.C. Law. The Federation also enjoys a high standard of solvency. The state insurance licenses and the Province of Ontario, Canada licensee for the years of 1976 1977, 1978, and 1979 were inspected and all were found in order. All the money received, expenditures and investments made by the HRFA for the 1976— 1979 period were thoroughly inspected. The mortgages were reviewed and the bonds were individually counted in the vault of the bank. The Examiner used our by-laws, our 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979 annual statements, minutes of the 1976 Convention, minutes of the Board of Directors meetings and the minutes of the Executive Committee meetings as guide. The examiners were pleased with the result of their examinalion. BOARD OF DIRECTORS During the year two regular and one special meetings were held by the Board of Directors.
