Puskas, Jr. CONVENTION SECRETARIES Governor Dick Thornburgh being in China on March 11th asked Lieutenant Governor William Scranton, III to present to the representatives of the Hungarian — American community the Proclamation signed by the Governor proclaiming March 15, 1980 as Kossuth Day and Hungarian Independence Day in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Lajos Kossuth came to the United States in 1852, and was given a hero’s welcome. He was also given the great honor to address the United States Congress, an honor previously enjoyed by only by one foreign visitor — General Lafayette.
