Edith and Eva Kovács. letters were mailed to them in recognition of their valuable services. The pastors and the members of the Duquesne, Homestead and McKeesport congregations and the members of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America branches in our area contributed daily volunteers who were particularly helpful in the kitchen and nursing care. Vice President William Szuch with his wife and son and Mrs. Maureen Hewitt with son and daughter were regular helpers on three week-ends working around the clock. I am grateful to President Arpad George for the trusting relationship of support with whom I was in daily contact about current events of importance. Cathy Milton (TV Reporter) with Director of Nursing I am delighted to acknowledge with thanks and appreciation the cooperation and the willingness to work at all hours of my family members: my wife, Edith, mother, three daughters and two sons. May God bless them for their dedicated services to the Bethlen Home. Group of High School Students. (Pictures courtesy of Rev. It is you, with your open heart, who make possible the kind of care we provide at the Bethlen Home, and of which we are proud. Our goal is to continue to maintain the highest quality nursing care for the benefit of our guests. For 1979, our operational expenses have drastically increased our budget, which includes salary increases and daily rising costs. Inflation is the most frustrating enemy of a charitable non-profit nursing home. In true Christian spirit, we do not discharge patients because their money is depleted. As a result, our facility has 70 percent public assistance patients and the welfare payments do not adequately meet our expenditures. This is why we turn to you, asking for your continued support enabling us to continue the effective loving care to the lonely and sick. A lasting memorial, can he established also, as a means of honoring a loved one. We sincerely appreciate the gifts and memorials provided during the past year. We hope that in 1979 you will continue this dedication of your tax deductible gifts. Please mail your contributions to the Bethlen Home, P.O. Box 657, Ligonier, Pa. 15658. Rev. Paul Kovács Administrator FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS OF THE BETHLEN HOME The residents of the Bethlen Home are again planning a summer bazaar. The 1978 bazaar was well publicized in the previous issue of the FRATERNITY. Our day-long bazaar was a very prosperous climax of several months of exciting work and planning. Unfortunately, not all of our residents are physically able to carry on the work the bazaar demands. Many of the patients enjoy doing what they can, but we still need a great deal of outside help if we are again to meet and hopefully top the amount of S1500.00 made in 1978. In fact, we would like to make this an annual joint effort of all the branches of the HRFA and the 11
